Umm does dutch count as well?
Henk wijngaard singing about drifting through the "brenner pass" with his 30ton diesel. Brenner pass is the tunnel that connects Italy to Austria.  cool

Wasn't there an astro unicorn show bout specifically that stuff? smile

Re: Good ol' American...

Oh missed this thread - I got some shit to say about this. My grandpa and dad both drove truck, and my grandma and her sister sang country and western locally when they were young. I inherited her record collection when she died - here are a few of my favs.

Trucker songs:
a few obligatory classics,
CW McCall - Convoy

Hank Snow - I've Been Everywhere

Willis Brothers - Give Me 40 Acres (To Turn This Rig Around)* oops, already been posted.

I think these two by Red Sovine are really the best of the genre,
Teddy Bear

Phantom 309

And a handful of straight up country track:

From the great George Jones,

Oh Lonesome Me

If You've Got The Money (I've Got The Time)

with the underrated Melba Montgomery, We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds

Loretta Lynn, the rightful queen of country music.
You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)

And the first lady of country music, Tammy Wynette.
Bedtime Story

Last track, a palate cleanser - Tammy Wynette with the KLF (?!)

Nah, but maybe it's time for a mid-life reinvention...
