View from Above is what I am rambling about, its fucking deep, how those strings go, that weird clock sound on the background and those vocals, its like exciting times of the detroit 90s again
Yeah I'm totally digging the new one from him. As if he's totally stuck out in the middle of nowhere doing his own thing.
I enjoyed track 3, it was crippled enuff for my taste. Never totally understood stringpads in music.

I like tracks 1 and 3. Different shenanigans going on (which is good). I would play them.
Track 1 reminds me of Deepart, or actually even more so, Terry Brookes. It's OK. The strings aren't totally satisfying.
Track 3 is dope.

I just really like track 1, I don't think its that deepart-ish, the EQ is different, more evaporating or ethereal or something...he has always good EQ/mastering of the tracks or something.
If you like track 3 check out this release from earlier this year, especially pilot error (that chord line that comes in is so happy) and 3 units...like a futuristic Reese & Santonio - The Sound http://www.clone.nl/item11739.html
And maybe you guys know this the track Detroit City Lights
(track 8 here http://www.clone.nl/item7250.html)...that synth is so familiar, is it a sample from some old record or a Roland JV preset or something
Yeah, he brings the weird shit and snaps the claps consistently, for weird but bangin' tracks. Also like that much of the arrangements have jazz-like, improv feel to them. Interesting stuff.

i haven't heard a lot of his stuff since the metroplex days, just that rush hour re-release and a few tracks on background comps..maybe i heard that one you're talking about...i talked to him some on myspace, he's a super nice guy...
Also check that lost track on this one http://www.clone.nl/item6236.html its got this old first Terrace atmosphere (by use of only that one string line its so genius) but then with all those crazy weird things in the beat, how the fuck does he make that stuff
edit: I think I know the shimmering synths from Detroit City Lights is the Dexter Wansel's Life on Mars intro sound???

yeah thats the whole cool thing about it...that strange groove...like a soup that is being stirred...but then all the sounds float around instead of the chicken pieces or balls or croutons.
