there are 2 different versions of POLYSIX - some have CEM and some SSM chips i think  -- mine polysix does not sound that fat in my opinion as the one from a friend...but in fact there are differences in sound...

No evidence of this "2 versions of the Polysix" has been exposed so far, it was questioned on the AH list. So far every Polysix people have checked (including the one I own) use SSM made filter chips. But if you find one with CEM filters then please post some pictures!

Are you sure that isn't a midi kit? Is it plugged into the KLM-366 board?

If not, maybe take a photo of it and post it up, I've never heard of an expansion for the Polysix other than a midi kit. I'd be interested in checking out what exactly it is.

Re: Polysix as a bass machine

opened more than 20 polysix till now,,, and as far as I know ther are no CEM polysix!!!!!!!

only SSM

using SSM 2044 on VCF
and SSM 2056 and envelope generator!!!

and discrete  VCO!!!!!

to mu ears it can sound good for some bass types BUT not the best allways!!!
same as juno 106!!!

BUT polysix sound is more alive than juno !!!!

no - as we wanded to plug a midikit into the polysix, we have realized, that there was a smal additional board which lookes really korg-like - we had some spaceproblems during the installation - don
