Topic: Crumar Bit 99

What's the fair price for Bit 99 in a good shape?

Re: Crumar Bit 99

200 euro i guess.

i don't need the gear, the gear needs me

Re: Crumar Bit 99

200 euro would be okay. A few years ago 150 was the average price but it seems that they went up a bit. The 99 is the one to have, the midi is more sophisticated than that of the Bit One (not to be mistake for the Bit 01, which is the rack version of the 99). All that and more can be read here, if you haven't already read it: http://www.pierregander.com/bit/models.html

Re: Crumar Bit 99

I have the Bit 01 and I can really recommend it... Great basses out of that box big_smile

Re: Crumar Bit 99

I'm looking for sound examples of crumar bit-one, especially basses. Does anyone know tracks with crumar sounds? Thanks

Re: Crumar Bit 99

Here are all the presets http://www.synthmania.com/bit_one.htm

And Orgue and H.Dressel use it too in a lot of stuff

Re: Crumar Bit 99

The bass of Texas, Brooklyn & Heaven is the Bit 99. I like the Bit for bass best actually, very nice and round, not too heavy, it cuts really nice in the mix. I can't compare so maybe I'm exaggerating, but I like to think it has a bit of Syntex quality going for it. Probably not, but still.
Ow and you can layer patches. That's pretty damn awesome too on such a synth.

Re: Crumar Bit 99

i've used mine in many tracks too. easiest to detect that i can think of now is that hollow pulse pass in the break of Overkill..
i really love that synth. can sound very deeeep, also very nice for things like string sounds, but its really a superb bass machine..

edit: i have an 01 now, in quite a few of the older bunkers (pre-3000 series) i've used the bit one keyboard i had back then..

Re: Crumar Bit 99

check the Crumar museum too

It's in italian but you can translate it.

Re: Crumar Bit 99

i have a bit one, and i like it alot. midi is not that good, but if you turn omni mode off, it's alot better (some models have those extra midi commands). really warm and "round" bass sounds, also pretty good on leads and pads/strings. dual play and unison mode sound great. just make sure when programming new sounds to use the 2 lfo's and those great velocity programming possibilities to the fullest, and it's really a great sounding machine. even built my own wooden ends to it (not that it sounds any better having those, but looks more classy :)..

some crappy clips that i did with all bit one, when i first got the thing. just to demonstrate the sound...

Re: Crumar Bit 99

thanks. i'm a total noob when it comes to crafting wood, but i'm quite happy with the results. infact i bought the synth for 50 euro, as it was broken (drifted like a melodypop lolly played by an adhd child) and dirty as hell. i manged to fix it and clean it. in that fixingprocess it sort of gained a special status in my mind.. i attached to it more than my other synths.. if you know what i mean wink

absolutely. responsibility comes with saving anothers demise.

Re: Crumar Bit 99

found our Bit01 for 12 euros :-) (perfectly working) I guess this old lady who sold it didn't even know what is it.

Re: Crumar Bit 99

Yeah, I really want to give a Bit 01 rack a go but they're impossible to find in North America it seems. Seems like they come on the Bay and such about a half dozen times a year.

Re: Crumar Bit 99

In north america they weren't sold under the Crumar Bit name but they were called Unique DBK and DBE (K=keyboard version and E=the expander). In some countries they were sold under the LEM name instead of Crumar.

CRC that is so cool those sides!

375???? wow that's way to much.......i love the cheeks from CRC's machine...i already saw them on the Crumar mailinglist.....nice work C.

I own a Bit One and i love it........i'm actually thinking of converting the One to a 01.....so just drop it in 3U rack....the metal body of mine One is corroded and if it's in a rack then it can come along on stage.....yeah!!

O yeah when i loaded the sounds into my One i accidently loaded the sounds of the 99 in it.....this does work and you will get some really interesting sounds out of the One.....you will also loose some memory places......after i played a while with these presets i loaded the One sounds in it and it sounds like a charme.....i totally recapped mine and this does matter....

Re: Crumar Bit 99

I've just bought a Crumar BIT 99 on eBay from a musician who has written and produced for Amy Winehouse, Sugababes and others.

I can't wait to put it in my setup.
