Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Bas: if you have OSX the situation is a little bit more complicated... But there is a FAQ somewhere.
On Windows it just works out of the box.
Linux is tricky as OSX, but I managed to have it working on all the platforms...

I agree that is clumsy, but it is still beta software, as usual innovation takes some time before being stable big_smile

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

@autobass
if your public IP address starts with 91 and ends with 162, you are correctly relaying the stream through the
peercast network, I see it from the logs smile

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

same problem here like bas. i click the play button, start the peercast app, the peercast window opens, uptimes 15 secs and then quits. maybe im too dumb for this? cant find something that helps me in the faqs. maybe im missing sth out?
achja, im also mac user.
what about this: http://localhost:7144/ ? when and where do i use this?

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

the concept is as follows:

I am streaming to my peercast application, which basically links my stream to the peercast network.
Whenever somebody wants to listen to my stream, they have to pick my station ID with their peercast application,
which will create a local relay of the main station. So to listen to the stream, you can open your player and point
it to your localhost at that port.

so for Zora, you have to use http://localhost:7144/ as the location for your player to connect, not my main stream.
Once your peercast application is up and connected to the PC network, the localhost address will be available for
your player.

I am thinking of coming up with a visual tutorial for this application, it seems really complex to use, especially for
people with linux/OSX...

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Man if it is difficult to come up with a decent weekly schedule and programs!
I can now understand with Ferenc was all the time at home... sorting files, renaming, retagging, scheduling, trying not to be obvious but always
be consistent....

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Echolot: if it was some half an hour ago I was experimenting with the setup and it might have been quite disturbing,
I know smile

Maybe you want to try again now...

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Ok, I made a tentative schedule for the radio... A simple sketched out version is available here:

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Looking very promising!

Tradition is kindling of the fire, not worship of the ashes.

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

I am still working on the scheduler system, so might be that the start time of the programs are maybe delayed of
some minutes... (still haven't implemented fade out on exact time)

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

looking good with the schedule!

I'm out of town working until the end on august. I'll try to tune in and relay during weekends

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

yes, it is just a tentative schedule, definitely needs to be perfectioned... but it's a start already smile
I already heard music running in some programs that should not be there...

Anyways I got some 25 Shoutcast seats at 128Kbit, that should help out to have better stability...
As soon as those get activated (takes more or less 24 hours) I will post the link as well.

But to invite people in using the PC stream, I will make it AAC smile

Re: Radio 1972 on Peercast, transmission test

ok,  I added the 128kbps streams (25 seats).

I know, I was moving some 2GB of stuff around... have to put up the big switch with packet prioritization, but it
will take some time... now everything should be fine.
