When you've got anything illegal on you I reckon its best only to take buses as a means of public transport within london.  I've never seen an officer on a bus or waiting at a bus stop.

100% in agreement. I've never had any grief befall me at the bigger train stations, but certain tube stops are notorious for sniffers by the turnstiles/gates (Farringdon and Camden Town maybe the worst, I guess)
