Tried with the contact spray but no joy... Now I have a multimeter and no idea how to use it... looks like tonight I am going to be studying!

yeah, definitely sounds like a bad connector.. its very unlikely all switches should go out at once.. sometimes cleaning with a little contact spray will work wonders..

yeah, the joints at the end of the ribbon cables all seem fine to me, although I don't have a multimeter to check properly...

Did you mean that you've checked the ribbon connections? All of them going at once does sound like a connection thing to me.

The first 10 switch selectors/pads stopped responding, all voices are ok, just the pads. Can't trigger sounds or select patterns.

Had a look under her skirt and the ribbon cables seem ok, also the joints don't look dry...

Any ideas?
