Re: discogs votes: ask here

@ disco train
pfff... what is that shit with those track durations lately? it's super annoying!
i mean what is the point in putting track durations into discogs if they are neither written on the cover nor on the label?
i wonder what will be next... bpm? like if you have no beatcounter you can use your watch and your brain to get the bpm!

Re: discogs votes: ask here

As if you could read my mind darling.

Re: discogs votes: ask here

Oh, it's really in the guidelines now.

Re: discogs votes: ask here

@ disco train
"Oh, it's really in the guidelines now."
-> what? that you have to add the durations although they are not written on the sleeve or label? that's ridiculous!

Re: discogs votes: ask here

"If the durations are not listed on the release, they can be found and entered by timing the vinyl / listing the CD times from a CD player or computer etc."

If you don't hear anything from me the next years, I will seal my door and measure the time of all my tracks on vinyl with a stop watch.

Thanks.

Re: discogs votes: ask here

What's really annoying is the fact, that I'm only allowed to make three submissions at a time. I was allowed to do much more in the past.

Thanks for the Italian jury for your votes!

I'm the only who has the Bagarre LP cause I have submitted it only yesterday. Found it from a Spanish seller for just 7euro so I don't think it's rare. Besides it's also released on Sauavage Music (and maybe on CGD too?) and quite a few people have it there http://www.discogs.com/Bagarre-Circus/release/547807

Re: discogs votes: ask here

"Ja, Oskar Und Die Blecktrommel", some people say that to me. Mostly the ones who are older than me (no offence). Never seen the movie though! It's about a boy who refuses to grow up (just read a review), right? Well I can relate to that. I remember I wanted to stay ten years old forever....I'm curious now about that movie.

Re: discogs votes: ask here

@ Scarface
""Ja, Oskar Und Die Blecktrommel", some people say that to me."
-> probably because of your love to the music!

"Never seen the movie though!"
-> no? you really should! one of the best german movies ever (it even got an oscar, ha, ha...).
and it 's as great as the book by grass (you don't have that often).

"It's about a boy who refuses to grow up (just read a review), right?"
-> yep, and much more...

"Well I can relate to that. I remember I wanted to stay ten years old forever...."
-> that's funny... and did you ever had a drum like that?

.

Have a picture somewhere when I played a drum when I was 4 (really!). I like the idea of playing a instrument to put a (childlike) spell on things. Played the piano till I was like 21 (grown up?) and not that much more after that, like I didn't need it anymore... Now I just collect records. smile

yeah seems like there's a lot of diffrent pressings. including an Australian one on Astor Records. all identical with
that same cover(&Lemonsweet has a 12" pressed localy on that same Astor label as well)

funny I was also wanderin if wiz_of_oz is a local for a while - till i found out who it is:)

Re: discogs votes: ask here

^^ Yes, saw the Australian one going on e-bay not so long ago.
I think I'm gonna put some prices on those record in the youwiz_of_oz account cause I get no trades anymore. Better earn some money to buy records then.

my favourite german movie, well together with das boot

btw got a friend named axel always called him axeltje von die blechtrommel
the resemblance with oscar and axel is unique, he looks just like him

Re: discogs votes: ask here

@ Scarface
"Have a picture somewhere when I played a drum when I was 4 (really!)."
-> ha, ha... really? you have to bring it next time when we'll (hopefully) meet in utrecht.
i want to see oskar the drummer in action!

"Played the piano till I was like 21..."
-> hm, wish i could play the piano. only had guitar lessons when i was 9.
but i never went beyond playing kuckuck and el condo pasa!

@ kuczera
"my favourite german movie, well together with das boot"
-> same here... never get tired of watching those two!

"...called him axeltje von die blechtrommel"
-> you dutchies and your "tjes"! what is that with you?
i mean we also have "chens". but we don't use it so often like you do!

okay, back on topic: have a 7" here that i want to submit.
new artist and new label and it's almost impossible to find anything on the internet about that record (only 1 hit on google).
label on the record says that the label is based in dover, de... so it's a british label, right?
did some research on that to get sure and found out that the label still exists and is still based in dover.
but on the label is also written that the record is engineered in baltimore, md and that's in the us!
also all the auctions of records from that label i found in the net are based in the us and sellers are mentioning "us pressing" in their descriptions.
so, what shall i do? leave the label thing on discogs blank or put uk in there?
