@roginator: I'm pretty sure they are earlier white ones but I didn't check? :-) figured any is going to be alright for me. I know that each channel has an input and an output transformer.

I got them from a guy in australia who is selling 8 right now (would love to have 8 for a full set of computer recording inputs, but that's a big investment for a whim, and I'm trying to have a range of different audio channels to play with, so I can work out once and for all if it's something I like, and if so, what kind of channels are best for me)

There's a great tech here who has racked a lot of MCI channels - we must have had a few desks kicking about the country, back in the day.

he also did some racked pairs a year or 2 ago, that are my inspiration for getting these. in fact my channels are probably from the same desk that these racked pairs came out of.... I plan on doing something similar to this - I guess the main issue is working out where to cut the channel PCBs and where to best hook in a DI circuit?

(or I could just cave and send him my channels to rack up... I suppose he knows very well how to do it by now, and could do it blindfolded... so it wouldn't be that much money..)

If you have schematics for my channels I'd love to get a hold of them. especially seeing as these channels are old, I may have to fix them before I can rack them up, too.

PS - what would the master section modules do for me if I could get a hold of them?? (apart from be really awesome to have with a set of 8 full channels... :-)

Get some extra transformers to make all functions seperate.
I think you can have 2 preamps and an eq out off each channel.

i hope you'll be making use of the strap button, assuming that's what that is

I went to my local gear shop to put a few things on consignment on saturday, and accidentally bought one of these....

then one of these came up on local ebay this morning. and I'd been waiting for one for a while, so I had to get it too....

Totally Jealous. They had one in the studio I used to work in and it is truly a great piece of gear.
