Uh
I dont know a lot about ramsa 89 but SHOT !!!!
Oh hell, what haven't I acquired the last few weeks. Some really nice deals.
Tons of eurorack (almost filled 33U now)
Nice CR-8000 for $300 (thought it was a steal but prices have dropped recently)
Kurzweil K2000R with sampler addition, extra cards, scsi, zip drive and a boatload of zip discs for 300 shipped.
TG33 for $50. Always wanted to try one out. Such a weirdo. Comes with weirdest rack ears on earth.
And finally yesterday locally an EX-800 with nicely done moog slayer/DCO 2 fm/ext. input mods for $75.
I'm actually most excited for the EX-800. I missed my Poly 800mkII.
Softsynths have been creeping in too. I played around with Jupiter 8V a few weeks ago and liked it Arturia had a buy one get one free thing going. I couldnt decide on just two and they had their box on sale through various ebay sellers and got one guy to go $350 for the whole collection.
And I bought this the other day. Easy to use and sounds amazing.
shit, is that what Kurzweils cost now? I need to get back into the market, as a buyer
I bought my kurzweil k2000r with sampler thingie for 2500 sek, about 350 bucks but i could have gotten it cheaper so yeah, its major time to get some KW love
The deals keep coming, I've put an ad on Kijiji a few times looking for a stringer after I gave away my Solina organ when we moved, willing to pay $300-$400 and an Arp Solina String Ensemble SE-IV fell in my lap for $300 Canadian. Dude emailed me. Other than the corner wear in the first pic it's in perfect shape and everything works perfect. And holy cow I am lucky. I thought I'd be happy with ROMpler solinas but the real deal just sounds so old. And alive. And way better than my organ did and of course the organ didn't have trigger or cv/gate. Very early serial number too. Earliest I've ever seen.

He was the guy with the Juno 106 and JX-3P that I mentioned in "Should I buy?". He decided not to sell the 106, I decided not to buy the JX-3P right now. I have so many 80s polys and the Arturia Collection. He said if I changed my mine I could have it for $200.
@tony, looks like a pretty cool simple to use reverb rack!
man, between you and plikestechno, i would swear it is raining gear in canada..
Yep, nice score plikes. Looks like a real beauty. Nothing beats a real string machine.
I think our welfare state creates a lot of broke musicians
Congrats Plikes! I had a 1st gen. Solina, it didn't have a trigger and gate out, and it was mono, I think the 2nd gen added gate/triggeer interface, 3rd was stereo and 4th just lighter, can anyone confirm?
I sold mine to David Sardy and I can swear I heard it on Zombieland
I later bought an Omni II and that CAN be heard on Arcade Fire's The Suburbs.
I always wanted to compare the two side by side, they're supposed to sound very similar.
I must have a 2nd gen then. No stereo (Just high and low mono,) cv/gate/trig and it definitely isn't light. It has to be at least 50-60 pounds. I thought my Yamaha SY-1 packed a lot of mass into a small footprint but this Solina Stringer was laughably heavy when I picked it up. Mos def won't be shipping it anywhere and happy to have a stringer back.
They just threw an extra few bricks in I guess.
I think some EML stuff has cinder block fied to the bottom of the cases, as an anti-theft device , that might just be a rumour
I don't know if you checked inside the Solina yet, but the keys and circuits are built in a heavy steel frame, probably in a similar method the origans were built.
OK ...
just got my self the beast and THE controller for a day !!!!!
JUST KIDDING ROBOTS!!! WE HAD GREAT TIME!!!!
