Re: What new booty have you acquired?

cv/gate, really?

apparently you can get a synhouse midi mod but I might be more interested in a cv/gate mod? Haven't heard of one of those kits.

@ GM: I can't be arsed to downconvert clips and upload them to the universe. There are some videos on Youtube of a dude playing classical music and a polish dude has a sample of its grungier side up.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Just bought another Pearl drum synth off Ebay. Bought the Drum-X from Japan last month and the DRX-1 tonight. The DRX-1 is the same thing as a Drum-X but this one looks to be in a little better physical shape and I couldn't not buy it for only $76 Canadian. I can't believe these things still go for so cheap. They're analog and I'd take one over any Simmons or Vermona any day. Now I'll have a second for cheap. http://www.hollowsun.com/donations/drx1/index.html

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

The only Simmons set I haven't heard is the SDSV. This, IMHO, is way better than the SDS8, SDS9 or SDS1000.

you want to battle my SDS3? wink

maybe the Pearl has a more solid and rough sound compared to the SDS-8/800/200/400 series but these are much more versatile compared to the Pearl.. The SDS3 is a whole different ballgame, that thing is a beast!

(I agree that the SDS9 is pretty dull)

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Ah the 3, I forgot about that one because you never see them. Looks cool. Will keep an eye out.

But I do love the Pearl a whole bunch. Drums so thunderous and fat.

..

I immediately fell in love with the SDS3 the first time Ive heared and saw it.. And I was quite lucky buying one, they are quite rare.. I can upload some samples if you like (when my studio is back on track)

It sure is solid rock (both build and sound) and it doesnt sounded as plastic as many other similar devices, a bit noisy but I like that..

So now you're ready for DRUM-X mayhem!? smile

dont forget to record some wink

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I am ready for Drum-X mayhem. Run two bass drums at the same time and get some slight detunings and delays going. Shake the house down. Yes I am ready.

As far as throwing stuff up what is the best way to decompress WAV files recorded in Pro Tools. What is a good free host for thos types of things?

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Linndrum.

After a failed attempt to purchase one last year( I had the seller skip out on sending and sent visa after him) I have now purchased another one. Yay!!! Can't be an Italo maniac without a linndrum smile. I gave up waiting for davesmith to get his shit together and not impressed with price jump of linndrum II to 1500,1800.

Now to pimp it out a little.

Thanks yes very excited about this.

2. new aquasitions.

A sync box - from a friend in sydney that sync midi to linn sync.! Dont know the brand at the moment
Tascam VL-A4 powered speakers to use in my small room as i cant use my v1 BX-8'S. So far I'm extremely impressed and they only cost $250. The sound reminds me of a little version tannoy reveals. Nice and unhyped, I compared them to new alesis monitors and the alesis where way to coloured/bright. I do have a ground loop between ff400 and these speakers and computer though. Damn it!.

Also interested in purchasing podfarm upgrade for my PODxt...pretty interesting stuff like a little UAD! $49 cant go wrong. Anyone used this yet? I still don't understand but the plugins are hardware powered.

Going to sell my GL2400 as dont have room and can plug everything into ff400, if needed more inputs will get ad8000.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Hey nice one on that buchla mono.

Goit podfarm and im not sure but its pretty close the being the best 49$ i've spent. My podxt has become a ghetto UAD1. smile. No longer have to worry about patching efx up to my mixer and worry about its D/a converters its using like 2% CPU for a full chain of plate Reverb, la/2 compressor, tape delay, boss vintage chorus and eq.

Time to sell my boss se-50 and my space echo re-555.
