i can use it as a waveshaperrr.....for my modularzzz......so i can modify waveforms with it...that makes it audible....
...most of the people do not care about the stuff, producers are using in their productions - they give a fuck if you are using a 10.000 EURI modular or just a free plug-in.... no one will hear a sequencer.... but no one will also hear the 5000 euro modular bleep out of a track....
...it was not a price thing for me - i am a fan of it so i have bought it...

But if a Synth falls in the forest without a sequencer will anyone hear?
But if a Synth falls in the forest without a sequencer will anyone hear?
...hmm i think not - untill a tree falls on it...
And vice versa if a sequencer falls in the forest without a synth... some serious food for thought!

why not? most sequencers have a different response, functionality and way of working..
for instance: there is a big difference between my 808 running on midi or with internal sequencer... timing is everything..
and for me working with hardware is much more fun than clicking a mouse behind a screen...
So I can imagine people are willing to pay for that...
My latest purchase:

Was 50 euros...:P

You can hear the result of an inspiring sequencer, and that's cool in itself
nobody has to know it's cause you're an arp fanboy
Sorru guys i don't wanna be hating.
But like i mentioned the rs-200 can do 3x 8 steps and a cool trigger buss but without for aprox 600 i think.
Then you have a new sequencer with 3 rows instead of 2 but you will miss the quantizer withou the transpose inputs.
But i would get a new analoge systems cale programmer with it.
That would be an Arp killer imho.
But the bad thing is that it wont be vintage and you will get less monney back when you sell it.
So i am not sure if you should go for more sequening options for the same investment
I didn't think you were hating, you're a serious guy when it comes to synths and that's great.
I think it's great when you get something classic and it's super inspiring!
I can also understand the love for vintage sequencers but i personally don't like them, I use Ableton Live with the arp, pitch scale velocity and chord tools a lot, now I find anything else quite restrictive and un-musical.
The biggest challenge is keeping the timing tight, but it is possible!
95% of my patchhings i don't use sequencers at all.
And when i do i use them most tiimes most times for modulation stuff.

no problemo mono - i totally understand what you mean and i do also understand your position...nothing wrong in what you have wrote... but finally the arp has all functions i need - 2 rows are enough, the quantizer is supercool and worx great - also the transposing worx very well - it fitts perfectly into my setup - don
Get an Analogue Systems RS-130.
Big investment but you will love it when you want quantized notes in a pre-programmed scale!
I have to say I am pretty excited about the MOTU Volta project. All that CV power from your DC audio interface. Could sort out a lot of CV problems
Will make Modern Sequencing Pretty tight and full of nice modulation possibilities with old kit.

Yeah Volta looks amazing!
It offers the possibility to be even tighter than MIDItoCV and do all sorts of sequenced modulation tricks.
This will also do ppqn and triggers to drive analog sequencers and drum machines.
Just think what it can do with just 1 osc and 1 filter!
Personally I'm on a PC and I use an Encore Expressionist, I like this setup and I doubt I'll change in the near future.
I hope Volta will act as a breakthrough product and that we'll see similar development from other companies.
It would be nice to see development for dedicated DC-capable DA converter.
Biamp MR/140 spring reverb.
Just in time for spring (even though I woke up to 8" of fresh snow outside this morning ).
I was thinking of doing an A/B comparison with the Tapco 4400 as the Biamp has a hard limiter to alleviate spring slap (the Tapco is very boioioioingy, great for when I'm pretending to be in the Black Ark)...I'll post my findings here. I love spring reverb.
I got me these
The Dr.Pad is a piece of poop. It should be way better than it actually is. I paid $50 at a flea market and it was on the bay within a week. A PC-2 it ain't.
The HC-2 on the other hand is outstanding.
As long as you didn't pay crazy money for them, strong work.
i got them both from the same guy, and yes the Dr Pad was way cheaper than the Clap thingy..
indeed i want a PC 2
