btw Freek, just curious , how do you manage to lose a stompbox ?
it's not something that falls out of your pocket..

so called friends that lend stuff and dont return... and when you ask about it after years they say they cant remember or give it back broken. Happend more than once..

tssss... bastards.
don't these people know they gain bad karma by pulling that shit off ?
Like in : nobody will ever like their music or stuff like that ...
And it can't possibly feel good to be using gear you stole.? From friends ?
Or will they be like : yeah i beat the system ! just stole this of so and so... i'm so smart..

... sorry ranting on here smile   just don't get shit like that.

I dont think people do such thing on purpose, well I hope not... I used to be very easy with lending out stuff, and maybe I still am cause when I started making electronic music I also borrowed a lot from friends. My first record was made with a lot of borrowed stuff. We werent able to buy a lot of gear so thats why we often joined forces. And maybe people think that if you lend out stuff easy that you dont give a shit, thats offcourse not true.. It annoys me most when you have to ask for your own stuff and when something gets broken that I have to find out myself and fix it because its my stuff?! And a lot of people I used to roll with dont do in karma or gods, they used to be more into powders and papers wink I lost quite a few things in the past years: tama techstar, smallstone, parrotbox and some other things I dont want to remember... But I occasionally still lend out some gear because I want to give other nice people the same opportunity I had when I didnt had so much fancy gear or variation in studio. Records I dont lent out anymore, it breaks my heart when I see others wrecking my precious grooves or not respecting the vinyl in a proper way.
It could be all about karma and is it a way of paying back the shit I maybe did to others, like criticizing their new record.. who knows wink
The most important thing is not to get negative and blame everybody for a individuals fucking up in the past.. I also learned to be more clear to others in advance, that helps preventing a lot of miscommunications and human errors..

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Right Freek, not everyone is like that, but It's always surprising how people will "forget" they have your stuff of feel entitled to using your gear.

Try lending a CD-r or DVD-r of something to people with the clear instruction to bring it back because it's your only copy.
maybe 8 out of 10 people will forget, I'm not sure what that means.

It would be my pleasure to lend out stuff if people had more respect to people and objects.

I think I've heard "yeah but he doesn't remember he lent it to me" too often to actually believe people actually forget.

Just got this, it's bastard heavy though, so I'm not sure how I can gig with it outside of Germany. Still, it sounds amazing, very Tangerine Dream when run through my boss phaser.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

I got that one too last year but it doesn't sound like the old one sadly. The box is extremely cool and worth the money alone big_smile

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

really ?, that's too bad, I figured they'd have used the same circuits.
Well this one has a headphone out at least, it's noisy but it's still better than miking it.

Space Oddity by Bowie was re-released recently with individual stems for remixing, it has stylophone tracks that are surprisingly well recorded.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Yes, brand new, for 28$ CAD + tax.

hehe, tr707 is a great machine, I found it a bit toyish at first also, but when you start making tracks with it and replace your drumkit by the tr707 its really great....very good for poppy/italo/acid kindof tracks..

707 rocks the cradle. Even worth the high prices you pay nowadays with it - and the hottest design ever made.

Re: What new booty have you acquired?

Man I miss my 707 and 202 right now. More than anything because I only paid $450 Canadian for both of them from a guy. True that I sold them for more than double but still. I miss that Roland monosynth sound. My modular is very moogy and sem-y, very 70s but not for the Roland sound.

I think I will buy a 101 instead of replacing the 202. But the 707, it's definitely a sound you can't replace...;)
