that's very much what i observe. while i'm not as bitter as some (mostly former mods) about the whole change i still see the general tendency to shit quality as a grave threat. i'm sure they could have increased the marketplace revenue without selling their grandmothers.

problem is, where to turn to? they have the most complete database to date...

There is a new forum that was put up a few months ago about this:  http://discogs.actieforum.com/about-f1/

www.discographydb.com

The Discogs data can be pulled via API, so it wouldn't be too hard just to get all the currently live submissions and create your own database.

Hahaha, awesome!  Yep, it's definitely that one wink  Maybe the arcade game, but the same one nonetheless.  The extra songs have the "bleeps" and stuff from the game, but still have the same disco sound as the rest of the tracks.

Cool wall art, btw.

Nah, it's not on Discogs yet, and I doubt it will be unless someone else picks up a copy.  I haven't bothered with Discogs since they rolled out v4 - I've picked quite a few releases which should be added, but that site has pissed me off to the point where I don't feel it's worth my time to submit anything any longer.

regarding discogs: while there's still a lot of users around who actually know what a decent submission looks like and keep the shit entries at bay I have seen a sharp increase in submissions that would, in the old day and age, have been removed immediately. like this one user who submits half assed entries which link all over the place, introduce new labels and artists that have been there forever (like discomagic records! i mean how can you link that one incorrectly?) just to list them on the marketplace for 300+ euro.

Agree about discogs....
Let's be honest, nothing else is going to come close anytime soon, but the guys who run it only care about money.
Not going to stop me adding stuff, but can't be bothered scanning covers, etc anymore, just for others to use in their sales.

Re: your last purchases of records

I find it quite strange that people start new entries even for existing records, just to offer them on the Marketplace. as I only check the new offers on my wantlist, I will never see them, unless I check the  artist/label page again. Weird as I think it will be the same for others.

it's gotta be the arcade game, the atari version only got released in 1983. as for the wall art, it looks even nicer when lit up.
