Re: Saw Robotnic and DJ TLR on the weekend

Did we just go from TLR and Robotnik playing in Perth (I don't think they get action everyday down there) to this?

You guys sure know how to kill threads.

I saw Robotnik here about two weeks ago...total trance nation

EDIT: Actually, funny story, my friend who DJ'd with Robotnik that night told me that when they picked he asked them if it was ok if he didn't play any Italo.

Let me be clear that I am not dissing Robotnick, I am just supporting his stance on this topic, he never saw himself as being italo etc. What it is then...proto-house or I guess he was more associated with the semi-experimental electronic scene...more direction of wave or whatever there is a fine line  between it

He may not have considered himself "Italo-disco" at the time, but no question he worked on Italo records.
Not the Robotnick or Fuzz Dance ones but stuff like Fly Out - "Take Your Time" or Sue Sadlow - "My Man", these are not experimental or new-wave at all (still good though).

On topic: I also saw Robotnick last week and really enjoyed his set. Cheesy in places, but so what smile
