well im from metro detroit and when i was into this kind of techno most of my fav records it seemed were coming from Belgium and Uk. primate and zync were the shit. so were not all up our own asses...well maybe the new breed is. but their music is boring as piss anyway.

funky, percussive and fast. couldnt get enough for a while. nice list you got there. some of those records are like less than a dollar!

Same here, I prefer energy in techno but without Detroit techno there wouldn't have been techno like this, the influences in the early stuff from f.e. Luke Slater or Mark Broom are undeniable. I never really got into Robert Hood either, a lot of his records sound the same to me. DJ T-1000 was fantastic tho and of course Jeff Mills, he's the wizzard of "hypnotic" techno.
But as Belgium used to be the biggest distributor for techno and many other electronic music, we had the luxury that we got techno from all over the world in our record stores.

All true. If I could only take one techno record to prison or something it would prob be Purpose Maker-well Skin Deep EP anyway. Rob Hood does kill it live though, pretty awesome.

he's active since 2009 and he already has 25 releases, says enough. Bvdub is even worse: 30 releases since 2007 and 16 of those are albums which all sound the same (7 albums in 2011). How can someone make 16 albums in such a bordered genre as dub techno?
