Oldschool Swedish food. Slow cooked pork knuckle with a mash made of swedes, carrots and potatoes, eaten with mustard. I jacked up the recipe by pureeing the mash and adding sauerkraut and a light truffle sauce
Refined it today and replaced sauerkraut with pointed headed cabbage/bacon/som other shit. Yummy yummy

No mate, i'm a professional greedy bastard We all gotta eat..may as well make it taste good eh? And anyway cooking isn't difficult its is? Potatoes take 15min, veg takes 10min...etc.blahblah...easy.
I think it boils down to that fact im a control freak, and complete nazi in the kitchen... if you're in charge you can make the shit YOU want to eat, and make it taste how YOU want it to taste. If people don't like it they can fuck off, but i've never had any complaints.
I hear you.. i guess it also boils down to time. I just don't have the patience to do anything more complicated than a bolognese
Well sure cooking is about making the most out of the time & ingredients available to you. For example, i more often than not cook large multiple portions, as it take just as much time/effort to make x2/x4 of a dish, then freeze the extra for a day when i cannot be bothered cooking(usually this means im hungover).
Because i could not handle the xmas mayhem at the shops, last night i took a lamb tagine from the freezer...only had to make cous cous & warm flat-bread, took about 2mins...instant tasty dinner.
I think it's basic common sense, and also the price of food is ridiculous....maximize your ingredients by getting creative with the cheaper cuts when the supermarket has them, utilizing all those odd bits of veg maybe slightly past their best.
It's not a chore to me...but there are times when even i can't be bothered cooking
Made a more sophisticated pasta. Spicy mountain salami with arrabiata sauce, extra garlic and kefalotiri cheese. All ingredients made in Greece (incl. the merlot). May not look like much but turned out amazing.
