Re: Mfb 503???

Less features and better build would work too wink

Re: Mfb 503???

Nice drummachine, but why only knobs for 8 steps.

And it needs a trigger output.

Re: Mfb 503???

Sounds great, but they really should have added normal outputs and eight more buttons for the steps.

Re: Mfb 503???

yeah.. a drummachine with no trigger outs is pretty useless imo

Re: Mfb 503???

I guess if you add all those things the price would be something like 500-600

Re: Mfb 503???

it seems more like a question of room.. those mfb's all have a kind of standard housing, and there simply is no room for normal outs, 16 buttons or midi thru...

Re: Mfb 503???

how do work the step sequencer on the mfb?

I've had the mfb stuff in my hands at a local music store and they're tiny and feel very cheap^, the demos sound pretty good, like good imitations of classic gear.

new videos online...damn I want that filter!

Re: Mfb 503???

My MFB 522 turned up today and it sounds lovely, although it is a bit fiddly to program the 16 steps as you have to press the shift key to access the even beats (2, 4, 6, 8, etc.).  I'm not that bothered as I'm triggering it via midi but you've got to put it in perspective and for 280 euros I don't think you'll get a better sounding analogue drum machine.

Re: Mfb 503???

nice, I tested that little box last weekend and I think I will get it too...

Wonder if that's something you'd get used to or maybe a constant pain in the arse?

Re: Mfb 503???

It seems like a pain in the ass to program, but if it can be used as a drum module it's still pretty cool.

Re: Mfb 503???

It didn't take that long to get use to programming with the shift key and the manual is clear and well written (you can download it from the site).  When it's used as a drum module you get 2 kiks  and 2 claps on seperate keys, one with a short decay and one with a long decay which is pretty cool.  It's simple to use and you don't have to go through annoying sub menus to alter the sounds.  It's simple to use and it's cheap.  What more could you want?

Another 8 step buttons!
