just got an email from mr. manlio cangelli himself
he really likes the davorite track.
Congrats with that, David. I also like it. It's a common thing to copy within italo-circles (or even within music as a whole). When doing this some notes or credits towards the originater would be a polite thing to do.
look at that honest face, and he almost has a moustache
just got these. absolutely belter
getting their first outing on Saturday night, i'm sure they'll take the roof off
i think my faves are davorite and lucy loves hairy boys

I'm sorry I don't know origin of any of their moustache but if I had to guess I would say C), Abraham from the bible.
Anyway... I understand the feeling hearing stuff like bad edits, crappy bootlegs or lame new versions of old classics. Never had that feeling on this one though and I guess you didn't either.
The thing that I don't understand is how the whole label suddenly is supposed to turn into Arcade Records with one track of eight on a compilation that has wink to a classic? Maybe a bit too much exaggeration, I think, even with a smiley attached to it. That Lucy Montenegro <-> Neon Judgement resemblance is so small part of the track it's easily just a coincidence and I don't think Lucy would have any difficulties at all to do that part multiple different ways sounding just as good as it does now.
Cool that you're worried about artists and I think maybe those notes you suggested or something would be a good thing to do.
mine has just arrived :-) it's beautiful ;-)

I'm not so worried about the artists. More let down a bit about hearing rip-offs of old tunes when thinking you bought a record with only fresh tunes instead of some freshened up old-tunes.. You would be easily decieved if there's nothing mentioned about where they got the moustache (or mustard, that's from a Dutch saying b.t.w. "Where Abraham got the mustard from.") from for certain tracks. Why not admit it instead of pretending you made the track just by yourself? It will look twice as bad on you if people find out (and they will ofcourse) and you kept things quiet. This is just another example. What about Lord Of The Cockrings... On the other hand I guess it's hard to be 100% original if you hear italo and disco records day in, day out and you want to make some of your own after that.
Now, can I trust a man with a moutache....? To me it feels more he's has something to hide beneath that.
he dont really have moustache
super nice compilations
Who is Lucy Montenegro ? Amazing tracks !!
i'm curious about who she is too, her tracks on this are also my favourite on the records - amazing!
I think I heard she comes from Poland and likes tomato soup.
