When i first heard music called "cosmic" about 13 years ago, it was rather stuff like Afro tribal with weird pitched voices and soutamerican pan flutes .
well, cosmic was a club and that's it. And then there was typhoon, and melody mecca, and baia imperiale, and cotton club, and there it was afro music, but... whatever, no one called that music cosmic at the time, afro, yes, cosmic, no. I still have a sticker of the melody mecca 
and there were a lot of percussions, really. Too many percussions.
This colonel is right on most points, but his way of expressing it surely shows a lack of parties and sex...

haha, those still exist... you know that dudes that show up in bars and clubs with their congas and persussion thingies and ask the dj if they can play along.. or even worse, they just do it and don't even ask. happend to me a couple of times, it sucks. espically if you try to mix and they guys can't even hold tempo and getting you all confused.
they should kill those dancefloor drummers
saxophonists are even worse because they cannot tune..ah ah..last time one tried to screw my mix i kept moving the pitch slightly so he was always out of tune..ah ah.. until people told him he was shite and he should stop
Edit / Back on topic..i found this today..and it made me think of this thread, because there's potential secret material on the B side..check it out if you can, there are a few cheap copies for sale on the internet(use google to find them..you will thank me later)

(post 80's) stefan egger afro/cosmic whatever you wanna call was kinda big here in south germany in the 90's..(edit: well not exactly big, but at least more then elsewhere). it swept over from italy to austria and ended here, more or less. those drummer guys seem to be the leftovers
