Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

every time i mix it changes someone's life

usually the neighbor who screams TURN IT DOWN my infant son needs to sleep!!!!

Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

DJ Ariane - Don't Hang The DJ Volume One - the mix that finally turned me over from hip hop to electronic stuff. Is still going strong on my mp3-player.
DMP - Eightythree in Rimini - The mix that opened the world of italo for me. Before listening to this I found the genre way too cheesy for my tastes.

Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

Many of the for those who like to groove series changed my perception on housemusic. Later metro area-mixes and, of course IF's mixes, lately it's vunk an mr.pauli. Vunk's Man&Woman mix and Pauli's Live in Dublin-set: killer! Wish Pauli wasn't so damn lazy, and put on some more mixes

Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

Loud E's done some crazy disco mixes.

I also like some of Echolot's mixes a lot, especially these two:
Perfect High Mix and Mix for Padres Bar

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
All of my base,
Are belong to you.

Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

Decks EFX and 909 upon its release, but that wasnt really life changing as I was into Detroit before then, but it was the culminaton of a sound that I was into during the nineties, and I  thrashed it accordingly.

later on, i started listening to more eclectic sounds and got into Felix Dickinson. His Acidic Mix http://www.cynicrecords.co.uk/mp3s/Acid%20Mix.MP3 REALLY struck a chord with me.

Although more or less into Italo since the mid/late 80's, I was never much into the MaxMix or Italo Boot mixes, they were too "messy" for my taste.

You have to see it chronologically. These were the first mixes having these tracks in them you could buy in (some) import recordstores and were probably one of the few (if not the only) to open your ears for "something different" than was on mainstream radio. This besides underground parties (I think there weren't that many in Holland...) and mixtapes ofcourse. I mean what's the alternative for MaxMix and Italo Boot Mix at the age of 12 (I was)? I think you didn't go to discotheques in Italy already then? And I even like the "mess" in these mixes also b.t.w.

I-f - live mix at VPRO DJ element radio 3 1998
Electro mix with electronome, I-f, Zaffa, NFD, Dj Assault, Sluts 'n' strings 909, spacer woman, MASK "trapped" etc.
the mixing is magical, the tracks out of this world. This mix pushed me 10 steps furter.

After that a Wdisko mix by I G which starts with hookey..

Later Loud E's instruments in the orcherstra, monster dark and sweaty occult disco

Same time, different feel. Rob Dirton - not real life
Opened my eyes to the more ambient side of electronics, addicted now.

Had loads of tapes like that that influenced me, that mix cd from Mark Broom on Piranha, I played that one to death. And how could I forget tapes from Steve Cop, one of the best Belgian techno dj's we ever had. I didn't lost that feeling, I hate all the circus around techno nowadays but I still love the old tunes.

Re: Post here your Favourite Mix or the Mix that changes your Life

kuczera & Vunk; I think it was '95 at the hemel, did IF's stopped his set suddenly because he was annoyed (as he should btw) by the owner of the SL turntables?
Halfway the nineties I did almost weekly steamy dub reggae nights and helped setting up the murdercapital parties there...while the first one was with Adult, no?
