I found it rusted and in the an Alley for trash. It was weathered. In the shelves are: Casio 3000, and your usual VA synths: ION, VIRUS b, CS6x, and the green box are Analog filters.

If your the one that has to be doing the drilling, it is handy. Also if you use Transparent colors or that Apple White Milk looking Plexiglass you don't have to drill hole for the LED's because you can see them. I think all the Pexiglass supply houses off Laser cutting now so cutting it yourself is no more.
Also in the USA I now have this service:

http://pro-modular.com/products.html

Alot of trophy/award making stores have the same Laser etcher and will probably laser etch for under $20.00.

Yeah the Labeling becomes the problem. I designed alot of the modules so i know where stuff is. But if I ever get hit on the head my world is over..

Those Dynamo Embrosser Label Machines come in handy for Industrial Labeling. Those Pilot Silver or Gold Paint Markers also come in handy for labeling stuff.

@ Blue Maq, great studio, so much gear! You must be drawing quite a few amps!  What are the two boxes with knobs and serial-like connectors, on the case with a dinosaur in front?

those look like they're from the alesis mod fx series...

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

You're right , just googled them, I keep hearing good things about those

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

Thanks, last summer I sold off alot of gear. This is what I have left and use the most. It was getting out of hand and I was building a Cubical of gear. I was getting great deals on alot of gear. I for sure don't need any more Synth anything.

I did score on a yamaha RMx1 for $70.00. broken last week. But around here I'm known as the Egg Head- It was fixed and I even changed those really crappy Sponge Type buttons where you had to smash hard to trigger the button. It's alot of fun to lay down ideas. I take it with me where it might get boring like with friends that watch TV way too much. I goof around with it. The sounds are not serious but good enough for rough drafting.

Yeah the Alesis Mod FX are really cool if acquired cheap. But they are not worth no $200.00. If you can score an ALESIS AKIRA do it, it has all the MOD FX series. Alesis is Known to color your shit though, so don't use dry/wet mixing onboard there products. Do that with a Mixer yourself, sounds alot better like that.

I don't have everything on at once so I don't use alot of power. I Strategically have Power strips connected to each side of a rack stack. I turn on only what I feel will help me with that musical Idea. I am not  into that "command station" scene where you sit with your DAW and control absolutely everything from the screen and chair. Like that you then have to have all power on. I record a track at a time. I use the Mixer to blend in fx Myself.

Here's my opinion on the vocoders I have in here:

The best VA vocoder I have ever heard is on the Novation Nova/SuperNova Series, I think it is better then the NORD G2 VOCODER module for oldschool emulation. You can make it sound Crispy and Fuzzy. The Korg MS2000R is really good but it can be sometimes to clean, but it is up there with Impressive. The Alesis ION vocoder is the worst with vocals, as an FX it is average. The vocoder on the Virus B Indigo can Be good, but it has a small spectrum for Vocal Clarity.

Korg Should make a Stand alone VA vocoder ELectribe Series (with no toy keys) to finally fill that gap. I mean solid vocoder, with a quick Freeze Hold button, and proper channel strip just for your mic.
With Sequencer and there usual fx - decimator, etc. Connect your own Midi keyboard. They could include all there dw8000 waves, and a Haunting Choir 'AHHH' for carriers. All the tools needed for Pro Vocoding in One box.

Color it Metallic Orange or Yellow, or Lowrider RootBeer with gold flake- fuckin Awesome. The poor Vocoder is always an "Extra" but never the Instrument itself. I would Buy one.

Does anyone have a blofeld, and hows the Vocoder? I used to have the Micro Q and the Vocoder was Okay.

I reallly hated the SN2 vocoder, not for me that one. MAybe if you are after ensemble vocoder sounds perhaps , but the robots didnt work on that one...and all other VA I tsted for vocoding really sucked too, you cant get the rattle and such from a VA of SW. On the other hand I was always pleased with Creamwares VOCODIZER, that one can/could be set up for anything between a Korg VC10 to a Sennheiser or EMS3000, very good imo.

Till i got a real vocoder (SVC350) I couldnt believe the difference between the HW and SW, just plug and play, put in a saw or square and off you go, so easy..

[disclaimer} i didnt go that far to test all VA vocoders (ms2000/access etc) But I heard the Nord one is good aswell.

Still miss it, would be one of the few reasons for me to get a UseAudio Plugiator (that has the vocodizer in it)

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

I will make a Novation Vocoder Youtube Very soon To show you what I mean, you just have to set it up proper. It can Do sick Robot.

I actually have a 10 channel Analog Vocoder PCB laid out(cloned from a Japanese Design) but I can't afford to proto that right now. It will Financially kill me right now. it would costs me about $500.00 to proto. It will happen someday I guess.

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

ok cool looking forward to it..I also had that creamware vocodizer in that time which took away all the need to set it up on the SN2...the spectrum view is nice on the display of the SN2 smile
