Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

Wow those stolmen racks look great...I googled stolmen and it came up with ikea is that right?

Here are some crappy pics my friend took of of my setup, it's only half set up at the moment, it looks neatly organised thanks to the rack and stand but that's a bit misleading.
My room is a bit too small, my monitors only fit somewhere to the left of here, and my mpc doesnt fit so lately i mostly just jam on the 808+101 for hours on end instead of doing anything productive. Also got a (currently busted) juno 106 and a dr202 lying around somewhere. Need to invest a bit more cash into finishing it off I think, and ideally move it to a dedicated room but I don't think that will happen anytime soon due to too many bills goddamn

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

here is my somewhat smaller Stolmen corner. Note however, how well 19" units fit between the narrower shelf.

As long it accepts MTC as master signal.

I think the Roland SPX 10 would do the trick, or maybe one of these http://www.engineersatwork.nl/catalog/i … p/cPath/58

@ Interfunk:

those shoeshelves are pretty solid.
they hold all that stuff as you see in my studio and like dx7 is pretty heavy (32kg) compared to the Jupiter 8 (25kg).

Unfortunely none off these accept MTC as main signal.

all of you are bastards and i'm too embarassed to show any picture of my "cockpit" now. sad

Why? cockpit doesn't make tracks on its own...plus the more the gear, the more the time wasted on setting up,signal flow, missing midi and shit.....I hate when creativity gets stuck into tech problems (whatever digital or analog nature).

@ Error : really nice studio, where is it located?
Please take the tc m5000 out of the rack and trash it big_smile (or swap it with the 6000)

@ Retali8 :
Why don't you swap the alpha juno with the mpc then? I mean...do you really use that on top of the juppiter 6 ?!?!
Nice collection anyway!

Do you guys know a quick easy way to post pics here?

Thanx. The studio is in Copenhagen, we don't have a website at the moment because we have just shifted owner and name, or long story short, the original owner is back.

Ya... The m5000 might have to go soon, but not for a 6000. Id rather get a Lex960. Generally I don't fancy the new TC stuff, I think the verbs stick to a mix like ham on a wall, and with TC you can never just punch up a preset and go Hmmm that sounds great. There is always something that needs tweaking, and i hate their menus. Ohh it's late and I'm ranting. I guess it all comes down to taste, and sure the 6000 platform can do some great things, but I have personally never been really impressed by it, and neither has the studio owner.  The good guys at TC have demoed it for us 3 times now.

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

yeah I totally agree on what you said about tc preset and stuff...I really need to tweak em to get a decent sound on the tc5000 that imho is too metallic anyway...on top of that we have a little lexicon pcm70...it blows the tc away...

I said 6000 cuz I see you have 2 lex already but I can understand the more lexi the better big_smile

I gotta say that the tc mone really impressed me instead, cheap ok but fucking good sounding! I got one right away after I tried the xl in the studio...

Now that you tell me bout Copenhagen I remember from the old cbs post wink

(tried to post the pic with zshare but doesn't work sad )

It's a transparent adhesive paper I just attached to the panel. And then sprayed with varnish. I honeslty don't remeber the name of it. Though it was very expencive (like

Re: New COCKpits & GearPics

@teknob - how did you mount the 19" rack to the stolman? Nice setup!

@zthee - beautiful modular!...did you design your own panels?

I obtained some telecoms surplus rack rails. Stuff you would make server/router rooms out of. Sort of like this, but not exactly: http://www.middleatlantic.com/rackac/rail/rail.htm

Then I bolted these rails to the stolmen using the standard brackets they sell.

It happens that the standard shorter stolman shelf, at 55cm, is close enough to 19"

Actually, I should buy some more of those rails and take it 19" all the way up the ceiling!
