My mum is bloomin' obsessed with shakleton its ridiculous. Great story though. In a similar vein i saw this Herzog documentary over christmas called encounters at the end of the world about antartica as it is now which is really good. Amazing under water seal noises and footage from under the ice as well as an insane penguin "headed for almost certain death" (imagine this in Herzog's voice) and interviews with a host of weirdos living there.
Ha ha I'd forgotten about that. And that bloke with a rubber boat and survival kit packed for departure at any minute.
I really liked encounters at the end of the world.
freaky inca hands!
great film
i still wonder what happened to that penguin
haha forgot about those bits too, the guy with survival kit was fucked-up. normally i can't relate to scientists either but somehow herzog teases out of their total weirdness some real humananity. its one of my fave 'docos', for sure
the penguin bit got me big time! but i dunno how easy it is to find a bridge there, and so not much hope of a quick dignified death.
give it a 7/10
Spruxxx look away!!! haha

difficult difficult lemon difficult

the best of the best!!! tropical zombies and a girl getting her eye skewered on a long splinter, what more could you want?

do you find Herzoh films reliable? it's hard to believe that some of his characters really exist? for example the languages researcher? or some scenes are way to much to believe.
btw he's my favorite docos director
...a girl getting her eye skewered on a long splinter
in my opinion, one of the best deaths in a zombie movie. Its up there with the helicopter, head chop in dawn of the dead.
