Pretty typical Waters filth drenched satire of the American art scene. Very charming and funny I thought, if a little thin.

I never said it wasn't sick at all, it's just that I could never be disgusted by movies which are "sick for the sake of being sick". Still, it is a kind of a cornerstone for the Serbian cinematography, hope that it would lead in a right direction.

I think I got you right mekonin. And I think we mean the same and I also hope it will lead in a "right" direction. Its a shocking and disturbing movie, but reality isnt any different when you look closely .... So take care.

Re: What movies/tv shows are you robots watching?!

after all the talk I watched A Serbian Film. I've normally got a pretty strong stomach for this kind of thing. But man, yeah, it was pretty extreme. Some problems occur when I try to justify why I would want to watch something with content such as this. No one told me about the last scene in August Underground's Mordum, and to be honest I wasn't really prepared for it (there's only so much Sotos and De Sade you can read I guess) so it was easier for me to say "well, I wasn't expecting that!" with this I went in fully knowing that children were going to be raped, perhaps like some people it's more about endurance and this film is a pretty good test of personal boundaries. That said, the campy performance of the director, ocular death fucking and some pretty badly delivered dialogue went a long way to rousing some laughs, so it wasn't totally un-enjoyable.

So then we have this little quote:

Screenwriter Srdjan Spasojevic has responded to the controversy with "This is a diary of our own molestation by the Serbian government... It's about the monolithic power of leaders who hypnotize you to do things you don’t want to do. You have to feel the violence to know what it’s about."

It's a little literal then as a metaphor, right? The production crew in the film being the Serbian government raping the Serbian people from birth. Could have been more graceful. Maybe it's genuine anger, because the film is set to attack you on every level.

I watched Caddyshack afterwards because after A Serbian Film this man's face is actually pleasant to look at

Kewl statement and quote Maiovvi.

I did a similar thing one day after by watching this:

Not to escape but to close my file for such „movies“.

Interesting for me was / is the fact that most people who blame / blamed a serbian film in a bad subjective way,  are those who look away when someone is in „trouble“, because they cant handle reality also. Most of them are living in a dream-bubble telling them life isnt so cruel .... DANGEROUS because life is sadly still more than that.
