Well, the end is very...apocalyptic.
The strange atmosphere reminds me the Edwin Brienen movies.

Misfits. I really like the plot but it's a shame there's many incoherences in the story.

Re: What movies/tv shows are you robots watching?!

I've been sick so I've been in bed watching film after film

Headhunter - german made english language slasher film that was totally stupid, but it was quite watchable, but it was bad, the only good thing was that the main actress is wearing a reaaaaallly low cut top. those bits were quite good.

Surviving The Game - What a film! Ice-T being hunted by Rutger Hauer, Gary Busey and the angry doctor from Scrubs. This film must contain the most concentrated amount of Ice-T-ism in the history of cinema and was quite frankly mindblowing.

The Green Hornet - Despite the overly flashy editing, Seth Rogan's "enthusiastic" style of acting, and an increasingly aging Cameron Diaz being described as 'hot' all the time (I've never found her attractive, being thin and vacant loooking are not attractive qualities, i'm sure she's a nice person, but whatever) this was really enjoyable and actually pretty funny in places.

The Hangover - Stupid bawdy comedy, but I laughed a fair bit, there were some nice side characters, but it was pretty fucking dumb. I would like to see a movie of just the chinese gangster character. He was great.

Devil - Urgh, I mean the whole film suffers from premature ejaculation, all the supernatural elements are introduced far too quickly. Could have been a nice idea, but once again we have m. night shamamalalamamalalamama really wanting to proove how awesome his intellect is. Which is not a skill.

Safe - This is one of the best films I've ever seen, an atmosphere closer to Douglas Buck's Family Portraits trilogy and Sex Lies & Videotape. Julianne Moore is a well-to-do Californian housewife who finds her self allergic to modern society. Very bleak and wonderfully photographed. Great, great movie.

Lost In Translation, very romantic and cheesy but a beautiful movie. I love Sofia Coppola's movies and I love Scarlett (of course).

hehe. Well I had mixed feelings about this movie, if you're familiar with the books of Herman Brusselmans you know that all his stories are taking place in Ghent (where he lives)but that movie was in Ostend's dialect (at the beach)which was a big bummer for me. The book is much, much better too although I have to admit that the director did his best to put all the groce stuff from the book in the movie too,  Dikke Lul to name one  big_smile  Much of his books were very controversial in the 80s and 90s, he has calmed down a bit lately  smile

I don't know if his books were translated in other languages, I should check, the thing is, he has a very specific writting style which makes his books unique and very funny but I don't think you can get the same effect in another language.
