If there's one thing we have learned from history, then it's the continuing violence of mankind!

AY, after a long while an interesting discussion with some more daring opinions. I have always been defending violence in movies & game from being a kid who had parents being in strong opposition of it. What I find annoying is that our entire mythology, the first kind of stories we ever had and that the rest of fictional media til this day orient themselves on, where always FULL of violence. Nevertheless going amok and aimlessly shooting people around you due to feeling fucked up by society is quite a modern appearance - and if you ask me, yes, the way they do it is often inspired by contemporary fictional media. But why does everybody then always criticize the media then that merely gave inspiration to the form, as in dress-code and cunsomation of it until the day they do it, and not the alienated fucked up society where nobody give's a shit about each other that causes it?? That is the real mystery to me.

Good, but the question is, is that violence that absolutely works on a metaphorical level, the cause for the one we see in real life? For me it doesn't go beyond stylization of the violent act.
IMHO The deeper cause for violence in western societies, is neither connected to ideological motive's nor medial influences, but a general behavior among people where fear, anger, and violence on a low level have become symbols of imperfection, personal failure and disgust. Meaning they have to be curtailed held back constantly, until one day they break out.
