I watched the original no that long ago and it was quite an unsettling film. never seen the remake,

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103793

Exactly ... but I am afraid of this phenomenon isnt only in the U.S.
Funny Games U.S. : Same Director and Writer. First I didnt want to see the new Version because the Original tells everything well done imo. Picking up the DVD for 4,50 Euro I thought : "Okay, Why Not? Result: The new movie wasnt gripping me again like the Original release before. 111 Minutes waste of Time and 4,50 Euro lost. Save the Originals ...
anti christ is meant to be alright. regular von triers but decent.
I am a MASSIVE zombie fan so I cant wait to see it.
dead snow is ok nothing special beside the nazi-zombie issue which is great
some how zombies movies are usually hilarious and turning into a comedy at some point.
A US re-make of Oldboy... oh brother..
Where in the world is the originality with movies these days (in the US at least) ?
heheh hello people
i know you did, meschi

welcome back
I kind of liked Limits Of Controll but:
it's an action movie with no action, kind of thing that i would have thought was suppacool mid 80's.
doesn't really go anywere, lots of the stuff I recken Jarmush salutes other movies/directors and even other forms of art(cubism - painting) and off course the whole thing is based on the William S Burroughs essay "nothing is true - everything is permited" in itself based on last words of the Persian, sect order of the Hashashins, leader Hasan Sabbah blah blah
off course there are references to Jarmusch's own films (double epresso - Coffe&cigarettes, the assasin - Ghost Dog, Bill Murray whom he worked with in Broken Flowers - here made too look like Dick Chenney etc etc)
but it gets to the point where there so much to "think about" and fuck all in the way of a story or good ol fashion action, that you just don't walk out feeling satisfied, or maybe it's just me.

thanx man, glad to be back
thanx for the thorough review, i couldnt've done it like that, im way too laconic...so sounds like it would be ok for a torrent grab
on another hand :
are you guys familiar with Bouli Lanners?
Belgian actor, the guy is a riot
I mentioned Louise-Michel a bit up (it maybe hard to find, it is on Karagarga), if you like weird and black humor, this is for you...
Another movie these guys directed is Aaltra (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405629) - a totally insane hitchhiking trip to Finland of 2 annoying dudes in wheelchairs who want to sue a tractor company. Cameo by Aki Kaurismaki...
here is a scene where Bouli plays a Finnish karaoke singer :

and another one they did is Avida - this one is just plain surrealistic, if you dig Holy Mountain, you'll dig this
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478558
Bouli also directed a coupla flicks:
Eldorado (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1176954) - at one point involving an old nudist that has a chair saying "Alain Delon" (which apparently Bouli stole from Delon at a previous movie they were in together cuz Delon was apparently a total asshole....:) )

and Ultranova (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0438531)
have fun
looks good stuff.
dead snow is a cracker, the last 30 minutes. look out for the zombie with a white shellsuit jacket on meschi, looks a bit like a ned, or Joel.
just finished season 1 of Breaking Bad and onto 3rd episode of 2nd - great stuff!!
been through the first season now. First 3 episodes where beast but it kinda started getting lame later on.
Season 2 worth watching?
