I'm fed up of relationship. It is "better to be alone than in a bad company".
Love for me is about trust and support and sharing core values, rather than passion and romance. But in saying that I just can't be arsed playing (and am scared by) the whole dating game/getting to know you experience in order to be in a relationship in the first place. I once tried the guardian newspaper online dating site - but I just felt like a pretentious prick and had nothing to say and trying to get women to respond to my interest/engage in a conversation was like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Out of the blue yesterday a pretty lady at work walked up to me and handed me a folded up letter with my name and 'private' written on it and asked me to read it before rushing away. It said that she really liked me and wanted to get to know me better. She left her phone number and awaits me call/text.
I work in a hospice for christ's sake and she was visiting an inpatient who is dying there on his birthday. Therefore she is either a friend or a relative of his. I would have thought she would been more consumed/concerned by his ill health surely?
Shame it had to happen at work as I don't mix work and pleasure.

What I dislike most in relationships is the fact that ultimately you want to change the other one and not accept him / her they way s/he is ...
Recently I found myself replaced. I now live on my own. Couple of weeks back I went to a friend's exhibition and met a wonderful woman who somehow had the ability to take what little confidence in myself I did have and amplify it back up to normal levels.
It would have been very easy for me to cut myself off from people and not to explore that wonderful moment between getting to know someone and the bit where it all fucks up...

now fucking cheer up everyone please, the winter is hard enough for ex-mental patients like me to get through as it is!
however much love makes you feel like shit, you know you're always gonna go back for more so let's stop sounding like a broken Radiohead record here... it's human nature to fall in love. there's nothing you can do about it, so accept it and have what fun you can with it before you can't anymore. it really is as simple as that.
I've had my heart broken 1000 times, and yes it's not easy. but just make like Conan and take the pain! love may have its flaws but it's a lot better than hate.
