Re: Hart voor Detroit

ytz, do you know this album: http://www.discogs.com/Walt-J-Reflection/release/10534
that one is still in my wantlist since years and years, it's a bit pricey but it's a fantastic album, Trish used to play Nite Gruv to death at Fuse club back in the days, I'm sure you would like it, too bad there are no samples to be found on the net. It's 100% detroit, it has a lot of soul yet, it's very danceable.

Re: Hart voor Detroit

i think i got the one you're talking about in a bargain bin, no shit. it cost me a quid, maybe two (was long ago). it's in a white sleeve and every track is untitled. it's practically a white label.

might be a trick of the memory, but i think i bought it the same week i heard reality   big_smile

edit. it's not for sale, but i could try and rip you the tracks if you want em

yea about andres that andres 2 was from last year right, but not on that thread? the had to be onbe of the best albums of the year, everyone complained that too many song were ju7st sketches or unfinished, but i think to listen through the whole thing is an absolute delight.

@smackos, i thought you only liked the synthetic flemm track off that album?
to me soul control off that is a step ahead of everything, where the hell does a track like that come from!?! but i mostly play the rink and galactic ancestors, they jam with anything.

more omar big_smile reminds me of caustic window or something.

jups, de jaren met Trish waren super! I also went a lot to The Scene in Oudenaarde which also was a techno-only dancing but much harder than Fuse. That Fuse mix cd, volume 4, is really a great one when it comes to detroit and related stuff, this one: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Fuse-04- … ease/78796

I think the whole album is genius...soul controll is definitely the jam how it stops and goes on etc.

That Andres 2 album is superb. One of the best releases of last year. I love listening through it as well, the short tracks don't bother me at all. Reminds me a bit of J. Dilla - Donuts which is one of my favourite albums, only "2" has a house vibe as well. That Shari Vari cover/sampling track is one of my many favs on "2".

And that T. Parrish album is his best album so far. I love the way it incorporates all the best of soul/funk/house/hiphop/jazz/techno/acid with that typical Detroit flavour.

Honey, in the morning the bees are singing and the birds are stinging in an open head surgery.

yeah... heard a story that he programmed the bassline for "big fun" in kevin saunderson's studio on his lunch break, went back to work and left it on there, forgot about it, and kevin saunderson found it and made the hit that broke detroit techno internationally
