football is a gentleman sport compared to ice hockey. sometimes it seems the whole point of ice hockey is to beat the opponents' players into pulp. whereas in football the opposing sides players seem very friendly, even offering a hand after tripping them over. i've never seen a fight in a football match. in ice hockey it's encouraged.

man the germany game yesterday was hard on the nerves.. but in the end they made it.. puh..

What a great performance by Japan. They have improved big time. I'm really excited cause I've been cheering for them ever since.
I'm also looking forward to the Sunday classic. Though I'm German I don't really know who to cheer for cause I teach English. I think Germany will be ahead though when Özil, Schweinsteiger, Podolski, Müller and Lahm show what they are really capable of!

I really love the way they play - they really PLAY, I mean together as a team, feels absolutely deserved that compared to starplayer teams like italy and france where one pesonality tries to top the other, they where among the ones that cam further.
And mexico too.
Slovakia I have a lot of sympathy for their great game against italy, although their defense is pretty bad.

I really do not like this Brazil team. Dunga's vision sucks. Maradona and Argentina are the way (even though this Argentina team isn't half as good as the one they had in 1998 which should have won that tournament!)

True about the Argentina remark though, really hope we get an Argentina - England clash somewhere down the road, like 12yrs ago.
Yeah Brazil looked pretty stale. Fucking Portugal are agonizing to watch, though, I really hope they are going home soon.
