Re: World Cup thread

Haha good pics! Spain deserves the World Cup, but both teams played a lousy game...
Now we all can watch movies again which is much more fun! (Or K1, for obvious reasons...)

Re: World Cup thread

huhh why am I the only one who's still pissed that spain won? okay there should have been an earlier red card, but that referee didn't give a too obvious corner plus an obvious foul on robben, and not shure if I had too much beer but wasn't there an offside before the goal?

It wasn't a nice game to watch yesterday but I think Spain was the better team.

Re: World Cup thread

lets not forget villa's slap that FIFA decided to let go and the play acting against Portugal that had costa sent off

and the constant harrasing of the referee to show cards (which is meant to be a booking in itself)

congrats to spain they deserved it, but damn they had a lot of help from the refs.

Re: World Cup thread

Isnt the boss of the refs a Spaniard?

Re: World Cup thread

oh wow that was well hard game yesterday smile

anyway congrats to spain,  no lets all go back to normal

i guess you missed that robben should've scored two easy finishes? or at least he should have made sure with the second chance puyol would've been sent off...

deserved loss though. bommel & de jong should have been gone after 35 mins.

O.k. let me rephrase that: "Holland didn't score and Spain did." Just a very basic observation but it really made the difference. Spain plays the ball around a lot (which they do very well) but don't score very easily. Of this "weakness" Holland could and should (but didn't) have taken advantage. Easier said than done though... Holland didn't have a lot (two big ones indeed!) of chances and were (especially) in the first half to busy with breaking Spain's game (or even bones...).

Spain just was out of Holland's league (maatje te groot dus).

"Are you loving?"

Yup and that indicates a losers attitude.
If that's the only way you think you can win, you're the weaker team.
Plus the Oranges got frustrated like they never were before in the tournament, that also is a losing attitude.

Re: World Cup thread

De Jong must have received a red cart, as well as that Spanish player who pushed Van Bommel (ref didn't saw it). Because it still is football, not boxing. But for all the rest I think the ref has to be a little more comprehensive. I mean, you have 22 guys being completely fucked up by the adrenaline on a field during a World Cup final (we can't even imagine), so I don't get all those yellow carts, 13 in total!!! Let them play a little bit like guys, don't try to make ballerinas of them...  50% of the carts were not even correct, and yes Holland took them nearly all. Such things can clearly change a game.

Is it a reason Spain don't deserve to win? I don't think so, the football itself was pretty equal during the first 90 minutes. But the extra time was clearly for Spain, and so they finished it at the end.

Still a little disappointed that Holland couldn't finish it here, but they can be proud to end second of a World Cup.

Real gold cannot be seen or even touched, it has to be listened & felt with the heart..

Re: World Cup thread

both teams played equally good for the whole time , but lets not forget that the goal came after a holland freekick that was soo obviously a corner a teen referee would have seen it, plus there was an offside before the final pass to iniesta. De Jong should have gotten red that's true, but for the rest what decided to game was that one goal after two wrong decisions. The second yellow card was also more of a friendly shoulder clap, opposed to the obvious foul of robben during his second big chance.

that`s the "redest" card i`ve ever seen beside zidanes action...i don`t know why the dutch still complain about the referee...they played so rude it was a shame...thx god and octopus paul they lost this with their awful tactics (+ robben was too dumb to make two 100% goals...haha)...spain you go!!!
