Trying to lose some weight, so doing quite a bit of high intensity cardio... Perfect opportunity to listen to some all time favorite trash metal albums and some new found death metal stuff.

Much appreciated! I do have ideas and music for more than one, it's a matter of actually getting down to business. Sigh...

Some of my favourites among the essential thrash are Exodus - Bounded By Blood, Kreator - Pleasure To Kill, Razor - Evil Invaders... But the list could be long. It's a nice Rabbit hole, for sure.

You've figured out some preferences? (perhaps an abstract question)

(I sometimes tend to frame music i listen to in some form of concept. Metal: The 80's, VHS slasher film, battle jackets, home-drawn demo covers etc. I prefer rough around the edges and not to overproduced - fells like a lot of the bands started in a garage in the 80's, but following success the sound got more clean and complex. Vocals can lift or drag down.)

haha nice question, but a hard one to answer though.. i guess i prefer the more fast and raw stuff, especially for spinning excersises. I've just ordered the Kreator album you mentioned, will let you know!

Surely hope you gave it a listen on YT before ordering, taste might differ!!! But yeah its a classic, the box art of DOOM (1993 game) bears a suspicious resemblance. Merciless - The Awakening is another gem on the harder death-thrash side, works while cutting grass - might work while spinning.
