Topic: [Dublin] Forza Italo! Sunday June 3rd.

Ciao! Ciao!

A leisurely session taking place on the 1st Sunday of every month
within the intimate confines of the Odessa penthouse bar and terrazza.
Perfect for summer evenings, the Rimini-esque terrace is the place to
be for smoking, schmoozing & carousing this Bank Holiday night away
with a late finish until 3am.

Forza Italo brings together the finest in classic Italian culture of
the late 70's and early 80's. Each month, we'll showcase live and
vintage football matches, infamous Giallo and Italian horror movies
and of course the hottest Italo discs from this era d'oro.

First up in our Neapolitan trio of Italian delights is the classic
zombie flick, The Beyond, directed by Lucio Fulci, it is thought by
many to be among the horror maestros finest work. It tells the heart
warming tale of a young woman who inherits a hotel on the edge of a
Louisiana swamp, which unbeknown to her lies on the very gateway to
hell itself. Not a situation that inspires confidence, and so it
transpires as the bodies pile up and dead once again walk the earth.

Following on from this, it was a coin-toss for either the Spain v China
friendly live on Eurosport or a complete showing of what is widely
considered one of the greatest World Cup matches ever, Italy v Brazil
from the second group phase of Mondial '82 in Barcelona. We know
you're grazie mille we went for this cornetto of calcio.

As the sun goes down we'll have the hottest Italo-Disco platters
dropped with Berlusconi-like abandon deep into the early hours by:

DJ Stefano Crosserini
DJ Ken Hanzlo
DJ Sebastian Simonetti.

Capturing the essence of Rimini in '82, this Squadra Italo will throw
down everything from blissed-out slowtalo jams to pulsating robotic
symphonies before climaxing with an orgy of disco-finger Italo
hammers.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.pm screening of The Beyond. Entrance is
free until 11pm after which the Lira-friendly sum of €5 will get you
entry to both Forza Italo and the Alphabet Set shindig on the middle
floor with Laurent Fintoni, Olan All City & T-Woc.

Drinks deal on the night include:

All draught pints €3.50
All cocktails €5

Forza Italo!
