Metasonix = McDonalds?

Well in all fairness, the Wretch Machine does sound like my butthole after eating a Big Mac.

Re: Deadmau5 is talking about skills ...

I'm not a producer, only a "collector" (oeh la la)and to be honest, I don't give a shit about the instruments that are used in the music that I like, it can "add" something but in the end it doesn't matter for the music itself. I like a track or I don't like a track no matter if it was made with expensive vintage gear, ableton, pentium4 snorts, wooden spoons or bananas. Anyway: cebteq is right, talent will always beat the gear.

Support the artist, hm, then I wonder how many of the Italo freaks did actually support the artists, aren't it the ebay sellers who are taking 10x more cash than the actual artist ever gained from his release?

Fuck yeah, so we're all in agreement that deadmaofive has no talent!

cool

Interesting random fact: deadmaofive used to try to sue people for using his fruity loop presets back around '08.

Re: Deadmau5 is talking about skills ...

Well duhhhhhhhh, of course talent is paramount. What kind of retarded person would think otherwise?

Anyhow, for those people who are interested in a wider variety of sonic tools, now is a great time to be alive. Community "support" and development has led to an undeniable musical instrument renaissance with more manufacturers than ever before.

I can't say if this will lead to good music or whatever, but it's a fact that almost all the music that's discussed here is the direct result of relatively recent iconic tools, eg. digital sequencers, analog synthesis and digital playback of samples.

The "lone developer" is a myth and an amusing childish provocation. Physics, electronics theory and human user interface design spans too many centuries and countless thousands of luminaries. Those who work on musical instruments are pretty fucking humble and acknowledge a debt of gratitude to so many others before them.

Support is important. Ask anyone from the Dead President's Society:

Re: Deadmau5 is talking about skills ...

I would like to say, as I see it from my point of view (I'm not a music producer, only consumer but I have some interest in music technology):

I understand that the development of technology has always had a huge impact on development of music. In electronic music, which here probably we all have most pleased about, it's perfectly clear. But I do not see today's great renaissance of synthesizers as something groundbreaking, comparable to what happened in the 70s and 80s.

In fact, what is happening today is just recycling ideas from that era. On the one hand it's great, because I prefer to see the actual music creation with tools more than on the computer, because I think that some restrictions on the design, which have real tools against computers, are ultimately important for the creation of specific music and sound practices that I like (eg, minimal wave. Well it was for the time of its creation, which its creators did not have other ways of doing this. similar procedure today basically just mimics what might be often ridiculous) . On the other hand, I can not help thinking that in fact it is really just hype (one of many, that arose thanks to the Internet), a kind of synth fetish, which has given rise to the new manufacturers of musical instruments and helped revive the old. However, for the development of music that does not mean nothing dramatic, at least nothing comparable to the past. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, back to topic:
