As Melting Pot takes a summer break, Andrew is joining up with Din Daa Daa to put on a smaller, more intimate night at The Universal - a lovely loft style venue with one of the UK's unsung DJ heroes - Moonboots from Aficionado in Manchester.
Moonboots started DJ-ing back in 1988 following the acid house explosion in the UK.
After many nights out at the Hacienda he got himself a job working at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester. He worked there for nine years and this led to many DJ-ing slots around Manchester at nights like Luvdup, Most Excellent and Robodisco and well as many guest slots at Leeds' Back To Basics
He then began in 1998, his own night Aficionado with another DJ Jason Boardman. This ran every Sunday for ten years and featured guests such as Todd Terje, Greg Wilson, Phil Mison, Bill Brewster, Sean P, Mudd and most of the UK's underground Balearic and disco DJs.
Since then it's run as a quarterly event and is now in its 15 year.
As well as guesting all over Europe and in the US he's also resident at Joe's Bakery in Leeds. A monthly, laid back balearic affair at the salubrious Outlaws Yacht Club. He's also compiled the SoundColours Volume 3 compilation in 2000 and more recently the Originals Volume 1 compilation for Claremont 56 alongside Balearic Mike. A compilation for Nottingham's 'Is It Balearic' imprint is also on the way.
In 2012 he started (with Jason) a 12" vinyl only label ; Aficionado Recordings. The first three releases sold out almost immediately and two new 12"s are due later this summer

We'll be using Andrew's Melting Pot sound system at this party with A Live providing the D&B system, just like they do at Melting Pot. Not many venues in the world can lay claim to have better. We do it all for you, the dancer, to give you the best experience we can!
