Derrick Carter

Melting Pot hooks up with the Riverside Festival to host an after-party at The Admiral with star of the show, Derrick Carter, giving us a disco lesson!

Derrick Carter is one of the second wave of Chicago DJs and producers who cemented his reputation as one of the world's best house DJs in the 1990's. He's still right at the top of his game, and hugely in demand worldwide. He started DJing when he was nine years old and rocked house parties all through his teenage years. Giving him formidable technical skills and a musical taste that not only included house, but disco, funk, soul and jazz.

He founded a couple of influential labels: Blue Cucaracha and Classic, and has produced some killer tracks, as well as remixed for the likes of Chicago legends, DJ Sneak and Cajmere, amongst scores of others.

Best known for his boompty house sets, over the last few years he's been showing he influences with his "Derrick Does Disco" sets. Of course, when playing Melting Pot Derrick will be giving us some disco love.

We can't wait to have him giving our soundsystem a good workout!
