Hello robots...

for those who haven't heard about it yet... The latest release on Citinite is "the synthfunk record of the year"

"Modernaire" by Dez Dickerson is featured in the film Purple Rain and we're releasing it on vinyl for the very first time.

There's also remixes by Egyptian Lover, DMX Krew, Faceless Mind, Hot Persuasion and Complexxion.

The EP is on Limited Edition red vinyl and selling out fast, plus it's available as a download.

nice one. I think I like the Hot Persuasion most. Also Complexxion does it for me... Should check HHV next week.

as for Robotron 4 - "Electro-?"
we were planning on putting it out on 12", but that project has been verrrry delayed. I can't confirm what's happening with that, because I don't know myself, but hopefully something will happen... it would be good to get that track out there on vinyl.

Glad people are liking the Complexxion and Hot Persuasion mixes... they are by the same producer.. my mate, Julian Krysor.

really like the complexxion mix too. cool variety with the mixes. usually 6 on one record would do my head in but these all got identity.

vocals on most of the mixes (except Complexxion's) are by Egyptian Lover.

@ electricity:
yeah i was originally only going to have 4 versions, but because 2 of them took over a year to get done, i commissioned 2 more from people who i knew worked quickly, to be on the safe side... then when they all came in i decided to put all of them on the record cos they all sounded distinct enough.
i was still worried that it would be overkill, but lots of people have had different favourites so it's been cool.

there's actually one more version to come, which another artist sent in uncomissioned... it's different again and one of my favourites... i'll have more info soon

thanks to everyone who's ordered it.... really pleased it's had a good response. smile

its been a while ago now. I went to the new HHVshop in F`hain and they had no copy of Modernaire in their shop. the guy promised me to let bring the copy to the shop (because mailorder depot is somewhere else, old location) - some days later SL was in the near of the area and tried to get the copy for me, and the same guy on the counter did like he never heard of this record. funny. because the same happened to me as I joined the shop first time a week before. but they have (very stylish all in white) some computers for the public to check their stock. I showed him the release and he said: "oh, okay - I will arrange the last one copy for you we have in stock". I am a little pissed, because I prefer to buy my records in a recordshop, not on the net with shipping etc.  anyways - I was dissapointed. they have only a few records in the shop and of course lots of shirts and boots... The old shop was cooler I think. pffffffff.
