I'm working near a small town called Lohja. A very nice selection of beer can be found at a place called Opus K. It has some nice whiskeys too. Above all it has a really welcoming atmosphere and the staff is very friendly.

I'd have to recommend Grogan's on south william street, Dublin. Great boozer. No tv, no music, deadly art on the walls, good Guinness, cozy atmosphere, toasted sambos...

Think a Galway fav is Naughtons, bit of a graveyard of ambition but nice to sit and watch de world pass by
hey sonny crocket, grogan's is well worth a visit. a tosti covered in mustard and a pint of guiness in there is heaven.

some good pubs around london that i've been to..
priory arms, stockwell - four or five guest ales on tap plus a good selection of other beers and some good bar food
the florence, herne hill - nice selection of beers, including two they brew themselves, plus some good food
jerusalem tavern, clerkenwell (although haven't managed to go there when it's open lately) - owned by st peters brewery, great beers.

The rake in London Bridge gets a vote from me, purely for the fine selection of bottles, i think it must have the highest selection to bar space ratio in the world, really small place

hidden away off oxford st, on hanway st: Bradleys Spanish Bar
7" vinyl jukebox, estrella damn and warsteiner are beer highlights and plenty of interesting regulars

Little Creatures in Fremantle, Western Australia. They make great pale ale and cider called Pipsqueak. It's on the boat harbour and was converted from a boat shed to a crocodile farm, then to the brewery it is today. They have also just opened a new place in Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Also Cookie in Melbourne. They have BelleVue Kriek cherry beer my favourite and awesome cocktails.

i may also post this one again: i can recommend the finkenkrug in duisburg (-neudorf), sternbuschweg 71-73, germany.
its a comfy beer tavern which offers a great variety of beer. they have a nice winter garden and whilst summer theres also a cool beer garden.
its def worth a visit (if youre nearby).
one great beer garden i know is the stadtwald in krefeld, germany. maybe the beer range is limited, but its really prettty nice. unfortunately i cant find some good pics right now. the beer garden itself is quite big and placed between a big art nouveau mansion, which is mostly used as a restaurant and event venue i believe, and a nice lake, where you can ride the pedalo for instance, surrounded by hayfields and forests.
@ san: your little creatures and coockie both look like pretty decent places to hang out.
finkenkrug is all about the male restrooms. they could be at berghain if berghain would have mirrors. actually, would have been perfect for twilo in new york.
overall the finkenkrug has a large variety of beer, wich i love as a beer lover, but the interieur design sucks. but [i]B
