Amazing. I thought that Foxes are cool animals and live far of the Humans society because they are intelligent and know that Humans are silly. Maybe this one is a creature of satan.

Re: Wild Animals Encounters

There was a bat in our bedroom last week. When I turned on the light it started cirkling the room, real controlled and non-threatening. My girlfriend freaked out and hid under the blankets. Once I opened the window he left after 5 minutes or something. After the initial shock I found it a real cool animal, amazing how it could fly so controlled in such a small room. A bird would have freaked out bigtime!

Re: Wild Animals Encounters

Those Bats can be dangerous they can bite you in your sleep (while you don't notice it their teet are very little) and then after a few months you get rabbies or some other disease and then its too late. One eof the most common causes to get rabbies I read somewhere. We've got a lot of bats here in the building sometimes you see them fladdering about its cool...but they ain't got rabbies here.

About the foxes, they venture into the city especially here, they come from the dunes and look for food they are really majestic animals and indeed very big. they move very gracefully or something.

Re: Wild Animals Encounters

I think the bloodsucking type don't live in Olanda? Well I'm pretty sure I didn't get bitten.

a few years ago i saw a herd of capricorn from about 30m away after literally stumbling over a male that was "watching out" for this herd. i stood in front of him, less than 10m away and it hissed/whistled at me. at the sight of his humongous horns i swallowed hard and signalled retreat... in a your-horns-are-bigger-than-mine style.

Cool to see the Goose give chase!

Re: Wild Animals Encounters

Last yr we had an elk or moose just standing in the street outside our house sniffing our mailbox. I never seen an elk just wandering round a residential area before, neither had me girlfriend, its pretty rare. He must have come out of the woods and got lost or something..
I ran to grab my camera but he started walking down the next street, i was gutted.
Then this little kid came cycling down the street on his bike, he had a hell of suprise when he saw this big elk in front of him coming round the corner, was priceless.
I seen lots of elks crossing roads out of town but not that close and in front yur house.
I waiting to see a bear next, i keep getting warned to be careful cause i go for walks in the woods and theres been sightings of bears up there with their cubs. I would love to see a bear, i will keep me distance.

"positive mutation!"

Re: Wild Animals Encounters

I was feeding squirrels that kept coming up to me in the park during my lunch, they'd take some food and scurry off. after I was finished one of them came over, up on his hind legs, I put out my hand to show him I'd no more food and the wee fucker bit me... bastard.
