"Buckfast's distributors denied that it caused crime and said the drink made up just 0.5% of Scotland's alcohol market.
However, Strathclyde Police said the figures suggested there was an association between the tonic wine and violence."
This is bullshit!
guns don't kill people... people kill people.
I drink this shit a lot and Im far from aggressive in any way.

hah
I've given up on my anti-buckie crusade now
People swear by it, specially when I tell them its rotten - 'fuck aff ya cuntin cunter its brilliant'
then smashed across the head man aye? haha
haha, as much caffeine as 8 cans of coke? now i know why it makes me go mental (though not in an aggressive way).
especially when i drink 2 bottles, fuckin' hell...
i don't think the taste of it is actually that bad, espcially after it's been in the fridge for a wee bit.
guns don't kill people... people kill people.
that made me think of this classic clip
Like many things, something consumed too excess by a vulnerable person or an idiot can lead to problems.
then smashed across the head man aye? haha
Yes with the downed bottle
But I offer them a toothbrush for the sugar and all is forgiven.
I managed to get buckfast banned from Jonny 5's house.
mmmmmmmm buckfast
I'm starting to think im missing out on something
A Freedom of Information request showed the drink was mentioned in 5,638 crime reports in Strathclyde from 2006-2009, equating to three a day on average.
[...]
Supt Bob Hamilton said: "I think it's clear from the figures that there is an association there."
"The figures are fairly clear that Buckfast is mentioned in a number of crime reports and over the period requested, the Buckfast bottle was used 114 times as a weapon."
It's all about the figures. These guys see the world through their statistics - if their report showed that they arrested more people in pringle golf wear they'd start to wonder about the correlation.
in Sussex they have extra police on duty whenever there's a full moon as apparently there's some correlation between the lunar cycle and criminal activity. seriously.
buckfast sounds like the party drink from hell i'm guessing the government has banned this from ever arriving on finnish shores
you guys have minttu... now that's another awesome drink!!
edit
Mixed with a reasonably priced carton of white wine.

i found this site, had the same question....
i find it hilarious that people would go to the trouble to import buckie from over here
my mum came over to my flat to find NY's empty buckie bottles and she was so outraged i may aswell have been injecting heroin.
the bbc 'investigation' was shite as ever. no mention, of all the post club 'professionals' drinking it or the grannies sipping it like sherry of a cold winters night.
buckie is being scape goated by big brother.
I was happy to discover some places in newcastle that sell buckfast. I quite enjoy a quarter bottle now and again. Full bottle is good too. MMMM.
hail buckfast.
