Max Mix 1
Yes, that started my passion for mixes. Although lots of people don't like, I love this edit&effects mixes a lot.
Started collecting mixes in the 80s and own hundreds of mix records nowadays. The ones beside MAX MIX 1 and 2 I like most is MAS MIX QUE NUNCA Vol. 1, for sure. Brilliant mix.
Dave Clarke - World Service (Electro) was the first mix I played over and over again and I bought all the records from over the years.
DMP - disco sintetico
Intergalactic gary - Live at stubnitz
there were quite a few...
roland casper @ warehouse. somewhere around 1993
x mix - laurent garnier
mixmag - laurent garnier
x-mix - hawtin @ acquaviva
laboratoire mix - laurent garnier
mixmag - hawtin
when i first listened to mills liqiud room i was shocked how bad this was mixed (ok - he is fast, but not perfect)
then came a long period of mixes that were ok, but nothing special.
and then.....guess what.... came mixed up in the hague pt1 and pt2 and some loud-e stuff.
and here we are now - today
:-)
Flemming Dalum - Boogie Down Rimini
and his Amazing run into the Tube mixes !
My first one:
Liam Howlett (The Prodigy) - The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One
Get me deeper to electro and introduce to italo:
Tiga - Montreal Mix Sessions Vol. 5 - Bonus Electro Funk CD
The Hacker - The next step of new wave
I-F - Mixed up in the Hague
scratchtracks album by ben liebrand
Dj Bone - Subject:Detroit Volume 2. This was a massive mix for me, one of the best I've ever heard.
was never very inspired by mixes (though i like a lot of the usual suspects) but what fed my appetite for acid were the mixes on radio 100 in amsterdam in '88/'89.. my hometown was about 45 km away from amsterdam, and i could only receive these if i put a small portable radio in the kitchen, my room was on the other side of the appartment and there i couldn't hear it.. but they played all the acid that later would become classic. in those days, that was about the only source for it on radio..

haha
this one showed me that there was better stuff than dnb out there... definitely not my favorite, but a turning point

Thought it would be nice to share these two old b.v.d.-mixes (bond van doorstarters aired on dutch public radio in the 80's) recorded from my cassettetape-collection (which explains the dubious soundquality...). In hindside they were definitely a big influence on what I still like today and must been one of the first mixes I ever heard. Still enjoy it and hope you do too.
Hail to the old tapemixes! (het edele handwerk ;-)

a friends big brother had bought some records in germany (late 80’s or early 90’s i think), lots of rock albums but among those there was a record with smileys on the cover. first time i heard pure rhythm based music.. boom.. slap in the face.. Aciiiiiid! Aciiiiiid! Aciiiiiid! (there’s always from the beginning been a mass hysteria in sweden against techno-ish sounding music. remember my school teacher informing us that if we saw anyone wearing a smiley t-shirt we should criticize them because they was promoting a drug culture. and in the 90’s two new cultures was establishing in sweden: rave culture and “gangster” culture, the police and society choose to tackle rave culture.)
