@computerdisco:
I share the feeling for the collection of plastic cheap toys... although the MS20 is solid metal, together with the 808
and the modular. But the rest... it's all plastic
Plastic Fantastic

What's the best programmer for the TX-7 on PC?
I got one recently but haven't really explored it yet.

Crazy impulse buy the other night. Had some money kicking around, hadn't been excited about any used sales or auctions lately. Diving into the world of Kyma.

The thing I get most excited about with making or listening to music, ever since I could remember are the sounds. So maybe Kyma is for me. And since there's no way I would ever front that much for a paca or pacarana being just a hobbyist, I think this is the best I could get for the money.
I have lots of outboard stuff, keys, drum machines...
I have 18U of eurorack, I think that's enough for now. Frustrated with some modules I've wanted for a long time getting their release dates dragged. And the handfuls of modules I still want never seem to get sold used or are unavailable.
All this stuff is kinda packed away too (except the euro) for a move. So I thought right now would be the perfect time to get into Kyma. With as little distraction as possible. It's apparently a later 320 too so I'm very excited. Looking at some more pictures that he sent today (especially the rear LOL) I just want to pass out.
Just going to be my Mac, my Microkorg, a mic, a mixer and Kyma for the next three months at least. Maybe the modular can watch... The lack of other gear distracting me may help me really get into this.
I recently picked up a Zoom H2 "Handy Recorder". The thing is aptly named..handy indeed!

I recently noticed when making line-recordings you have to keep in mind the input-level on the H2 doesnt work as a gain. Somehow it cuts/limits the recorded level when you decrease the amount of db on the H2. So put the H2 input level on max and control the gain on your incoming mixer/device.
cheers!
Awesome man a Kyma!

Cool, thanks for that tip Freek! I haven't done any line-level recording yet but I'll keep that in mind when the time comes.
@plikestechno
congratulations on scoring the Kyma! Some time ago I was undecided whether to go for the Kyma or settle for a "more modest" Clavia G2X.
At that time there were no Kymas on the used market, so I went for the G2X... After a couple of years, I have to say that
I am a bit mixed up on that synthesizer.
Don't get me wrong, I like the sounds and you can do virtually everything with 4 ins and 4 outs plus the DSPS...
but it's missing something from the programming point of view... Although modular,
it hasn't got the same feeling of pushing the buttons and jacking the real wires in the A100... Of course, this I would
miss as well on the Kyma. But still...
Lately I have not been using it much, so I am wondering whether I would have been better getting the Kyma.
