yesterday my car died while i was driving home on the autobahn.
was terrible really, cause i could hear and feel how it died. and its my own fault, cause i simply forgot to give it some oil. fucking stupid. just got the confirmation from the garage, the motor is beyond remedy.
was also super that i once again proved my special talent in forgetting things i only once in a while really need just then when i need them. forgot my mobile at home yesterday and had to wave till someone stopped.

man, that story's upsettingly familiar to me. except the sickness of the 'cost doubling' bit... your worries sound an awful lot like mine. I know I believe enough in what I want to do and how I want to do it, but I wonder if I'm ready for the drop in living standards that's inevitably in the post... we shall see  hope that they recognize your worth and that there's some scholarships you can go for.

Soory to hear that man. Not getting shortlisted is a boot in the stones. I would ask for some feedback. its tough out there right ultra competitive. I applied for a job that had 150 applicants got down to the last 14 so was pleased to get there. Still keep at it man there are opportunities out there.

You're totally right man, in the grand scheme of things its not too bad, I've not lost my current job and Im no worse off than I was 6 months ago, so its hard for me to feel too bad considering the amount of people who have lost their jobs (robots even more so) in the last few years and how much worse things could be.

The position Im in just now I have been seconded to, my contract is up in September and there were 4 of us put into this position to in effect be trained up for the jobs that have just been advertised. The year and a half of me working my ass off has been leadnig up to these jobs... then... no. you're not getting it. It was quite hard to take this morning.

How did the interview go? What were you going for? Good luck and I hope you find out soon. The waiting bit is rough.
