didn't realise there was a reading thread on here!
this book has been a bit disappointing so far. the first quarter of it has been dedicated to how the company started and was formed, and while that is pretty interesting to read given that i work for a software company, i was hoping for a bit more of an analytical book - oh well .
finished and then followed by the movie and the book was def. better! there's also a very interesting story about the author behind this book, the mysterious 'b. traven' . the intro of my copy of the book had a bit about the mystery and also found some things on the internet about 'him'.
these two just arrived
Cool. Saw David Toop give a lecture at a festival in Norway two years ago. He actually inspired me to read the John Berger book!
interesting. he's quite critical of it here.
Oh, the one by Shackleton himself! Should read that sometime too. "Endurance", by Alfred Lansing, is one of my favourite books. That one consists mostly of journal entries by the crew.
Just begun yesterday. Very good already. Ends as Autumn reading obviously.
"Free" by Chris Anderson.
A good read, food for thought.
Microbionic: Radical Electronic Music and Sound Art in the 21st Century.
I'm in need of something to read. I might not have time for a book though, so is there a good comic series you guys know of (I need more than just a graphic novel)? I've heard Sandman is good. I kind of have a yearning to download all of the X-Men comics and satisfy my childhood obsession with them. Any comic fans out there? Can someone recommend me something respectable? I'll keep you guys updated on my ponytail growth
Mushaden: A friend just gave me digital versions of a whole lot of comics, Scott Pilgrim is one you should check out. You can d/l a reader, I use Simple Comic and read them on your computer Or you can buy actual comics, stuff by Dan Clowes is also good
Thanks folks
I love Spawn (that's the only one I recognize, YAS)
there are also wildc.a.t.s. and voodoo and some other characters. this book has five stories and is a compilation of previously released comics. just finished reading the first two and the last one, still have two to go
this is another one i read recently. it's older one but missed it before. batman vs jack the ripper
