I may not have explained myself well in my first post but my anxiety wasn't surrounding the reduction (I'd already resigned myself to that given that as you say we didn't update the inventory on our move in) - its whether she will give us any money at all. I remain to be convinced and communication with her is a no go as she has made it impossible for us to engage in dialogue without the use of a third party.

NEVER received a full deposit back from Landlords when I rented for 10 years.
It's usually one months deposit - Best thing to do from now on is to NOT pay your last months rent and let them keep the deposit, which I did.  Fuck them.

had to pay some bills, some long forgotten ones, too (like fucking gez (didnt pay them the whole year), adac (and i dont even have a car anymore, but stupid me forgot to cancel), supplementary payment of running costs 08/09, electricity,........ altogether almost 650 euro. i guess no first utrecht record fair for me this year.. sad
