this is an old artical that i just discovered, though i have had these thoughts for years, articals like this from these hipster fashion designers compelled my blow up

they are saying basically we can all throw the Xone92s, Empaths, Dateqs out the window, lets all use some goddamn joystick and play dj heroe on the xbox

Well, even though I'm also kinda oldfashioned, I didn't feel like the article is sooo pro-digital. Some quotes:

"So in reality, if you’re comparing apples to apples, then digital mixing has the potential to be more flexible and forgiving than analog… if it’s designed properly. Since each product is going to have different characteristics and qualities depending on how well they are made, you really need to use your ears and put both software and analog mixers to the test before judging."

George Petersen, the long-time editorial director of Mix Magazine and an active producer/engineer, says “Really, analog summing is the best way to go, but in most situations, the difference is pretty subtle.” Petersen doesn’t discourage anyone from mixing in the box, but he emphasizes the importance of a high-quality audio interface if you’re going to get the best sound using digital summing.

Also, I don't find it very unusual that a magazine writing about new technology is emphasizing the advantages of it.

i came across this while googling for a new mixer to replace my crap djm500
my head just couldn't handle the concept of getting a controller

it's like sure a $5 casio watch can tell time perhaps better than swiss mechanicals but...

well my "outrage" was not directed at digital mixers vs analog mixers
it's more like controller vs a stand-alone mixer

or are they all the same thing i am confused now
