I never dared starting on a modular but recently got a 'Slew Limiter' so I guess thats a start
so I bought that nite EQ, and it showed up the other day.
Mine seems to be very well made, which is nice for a DIY kit.
Soundwise it comes across as very smooth and generally pretty transparent.
I've just been using it on mono sources like synths and my 808, and it works in a way my other hardware EQ doesn't. But think it will be most useful at tweaking the sound of full mixes.
So, installed the pot kit.. I gotta say, its like a totally different synth.. I had no vibe at all with this thing before. Even tho it was expensive i gotta say it was worth it. I got it 20% off anyway so this pretty much just evens things out. Also i got them sexy new knobs!
All it needs is a touch up paint job under the keys.
Just got AKAI s1100 and ex 1100
anybody know where to find rack ears for this babies // non have em
got myself a soviet reel to reel tape recorder from '91 http://www.nasha-radiotehnika.narod.ru/ … z111s.html and a few dozen tapes with it. paid $35.00 for the whole package, thing looks barely used apart from hissing pots.
yeah real nice baby the cs10!
had mine modded with added sub osc and midi
filter input is great too
i love it!
cs-10 and sh-09 came back from repair... cs-10 has never been working so it's a real new booty for me. I cannot believe how good this synth is. super lush and full of nice touches like the TIMEx5 on both filter and vca envelopes, and highpass, bandpass and lowpass filter. I'm loving it!
@elsquirrel, nice photo, our tuxedo print cats love laying on our synths too.
also, that nite eq sounds pretty rad no-fi! did you build it or buy it pre-built?
we got another monotron this weekend.

Funny you should mention that ouroboros as I'm just getting mine fixed up with exactly the same mods (except Midi). How is it with the sub?

Bought pre-built from someone else. Easiest diy job ever....
:-)
Also, got a plan b m15 oscillator from a friend. Time to start working on fleshing out my eurorack with some mod sources and a filter and vca.
mekonin - if your DRM loses sync with midi then you need to find an OS rom upgrade for it. i did it for a friend.
i find the kick drums a bit weak on it but the clap is incredible!

Thanks for the info, Sneak. I'll see how this one behaves, but I doubt that the seller had installed any upgrades. Did you burn the ROM for your friend yourself?
you wont be disappointed!!!!!! my tech added sub osc with on/off and potmeter for volume
the sub makes it a comlpetely unreasonable bassmonster!

i did that myself, there's a guy in france that sells the pcb's. solder in, attack switch and knob, and ready!

The later versions had the newer ROM. If you have any problems, email me and I'll see if my friend can remember where he got it from. I think he bought the ROM some guy... I can't find any links on google right now
At last! An owner of the real deal...
Ow, and thanks for all the advice Ruud!! ; )
Beauty!!
You could look at it for days... and still want to look at it..
looks good! and a meter bridge.. nice! mine doesnt have that..
who needs a meter bridge? you KNOW it would be in the red all the time and still sound great
True that! But now i've got even more knobs...
Btw, you can easily modify it, buying a spare meterbridge from Evilbay..
