Re: What new booty have you acquired?
Yeah that's a great deal Tony! I had one of those for a while and now that it's gone I miss it. I bought mine new about 5 years ago and it was at least 3 times what you paid. Nice one!

Most of the time I used to keep things in check on the way into my converters. Anything with squealing resonance like the 202, etc. It was also fun for squashing drum machines...606 sounded "really nice" with it. It wasn't the most exciting piece of gear, but it sure was useful (which is why I miss it). Definitely one of the better low-cost dynamics processors out there.
Linndrum 630euro
Korg Poly 800mkII and Roland CR-80 107euro
Hope my gas is over....
Today I went to pick up the Q at this guy's place.
While I was testing the Q (perfect conditions, btw, seems new), we were talking and he told me that he is going to get rid of all
his music equipment because he has to finance his commercial flight pilot license.. So I asked him what he was parting with and
he really confirmed everything... So tonight I came home with these things (apart from the Q):
plus a Miditemp PMM88-E (midi matrix router) and quite a big box of cables.
How much I did pay? including the Q, 1200 CHF (around 940 EUR).
Originally he wanted another 500, but I felt like I was stealing from him, so I added another 200 to it..
He would have given me as well an ATA case, 19" rack format, but I had no space for it (both in my car and
at my place), so I left it there.
Sometimes good things can happen )))
I had that M160 for a long time .. nice synth mixer !!!
Just got the GSSL SB4000-version front panel & the pcb's:
Now I'm waiting for the components to come.
Thanks Sneak, that makes sense.
I read up on it a little, so it seems that "Leveling amplifier" is basically a slightly older name for a compressor, often of the opto variety, correct?
yup. I've had the RNC since 1998 and it's served me well. The extra colour or as some say "chest hair" of the RNLA tempted me a bit but instead I'm choosing the improved GSSL route.
Was also looking at the PBC-6a but I don't feel I need anything in Empirical Labs Distressor territory. If RNLA is "chest hair", than the PBC-6a is 100% hirsute heh.
teac a-430 cassette deck from 1975. it sounds really great!
Hope my gas is over....
FOR THIS WEEK
Shit guys, I'm in full GAS moment in the worst moment... also a PG1000 is coming down the way to my postbox
a.
PS: I'm considering opening a synth rental
Thanks Sneak, that makes sense.

$60 is a steal tony! FMR makes really quality stuff at low prices. looking forward to seeing how you like using it.
@sneak, was that a kit from somewhere for the gssl? interested to see how that turns out!

It's the latest incarnation of the GSSL with an integrated super-sidechain filter, switchable Oxford/Aarhus mode, VU-meter and better psu:

The panel and pcbs came from the designer and the parts kit from here:

@schmoltz:
remember that in Soviet Russia, tape echo plays you and not you play tape echo.
Echolot wrote:sexy! I'm currently also looking for one.. where did you bought it?
bought it from a friend here in munich
oh yeah, it's fucking with me already.
it records, but does not erase, I can just layer and layer the sounds ad infinitum with each turn of the tape there are no controls for it on the machine, and I do have the tape running over what looks like the eraser head (judging by it's position). feel like I'm either missing something simple, or the eraser head is dead. any ideas what it can be?
