Melting Pot joins forces once again with Funktifeyeno and Piacentini from Dance! Dance! Dance! to present a tribute to one of the most influential clubs and DJs on the disco and early house scene, The Paradise Garage, and its resident, the truly legendary Larry Levan. The Garage was a phenomenon, a place where thousands of clubbers would dance week in week out from 1977 to its close in 1987, where resident DJ Larry Levan would spin for hours on end. Larry’s influence was enormous – he could single handily break new records, with legions of fans and radio DJs taking their cues from his sets. The Garage was also a test bed for his production skills, where records would be tweaked from week to week to ensure maximum dancefloor impact. He was also obsessive about the sound quality of the system, and worked closely with Richard Long to create a system that has rarely been equalled since.
Larry Levan has had such an enormous influence over dance music as we know it today, and one that deserves to be celebrated. What better way to do so than to play the records that had such an impact over the 10 years that The Garage shaped the dance music scene.
We’ll be playing tracks from top 100 records of The Paradise Garage list that featured in Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton’s Last Night a DJ Saved My Life book, and will also throw in some other Levan productions, and tracks that never made it into the list.

Divine's Psychedelic Soul Lounge:
After we all had such a great night together at Hogmanay hooking up Melting Pot and Divine again at Easter wasn't a hard decision!
This time Andrew will be flying solo and causing mayhem on the newly refurbished upstairs dancefloor. His record collecting skills are a thing of legend! Expect northern soul, heavyweight funk, Tamla Motown, sixties freakbeat, dynamite ska, E-Z listening and psychedelic soundtracks - a unique blend of established classics and new discoveries.
